Stars V Wolves - Wed 13 May

Recommended Posts

Difficult meeting to get into as the racing was poor but the score was close then we had the Robert Lambert show which lived it up. Gave Josh Bates a big shove on lap 1 bend 4 in one race but he was awesome to watch.

Felt Thorsell rode hard for his points return. Ricky Wells scored well, looked more solid which is good to see.

Josh Bates is a real trier.

PK was never going to enjoy the return to KL but he wasnt awful, just not a lot of opportunities to overtake.

Freddie looked ok but nothing special until heat 13 when he seemed to look like his old self again.. When hes like that I always enjoy my speedway .

Well done to the stars. Looking forward to Monday. Should be a close one!

Just back home from my southern adventures . Decent enough meeting after a processional first few heats . Robert Lambert certainly provided the entertainment , shame he wasn't given heat 15 but I found out he was ill and was touch and go whether to ride at all . Good to see Trees , Jotrez , Gordon Bennett and Superguest there and we had a great hour or so in the bar afterwards chatting with Buster and Rob Lyon and the Lynn faithful . We even had a scarf swap . Really nice people that made our visit really enjoyable

Sorry I missed you Paulco :( I stand in the home straight stand and not on bend 1 and was texting updates through for the updates forum, but would've been nice to say hello. Shame that the Peterborough meeting was called off on the Friday as I'd have been there for sure and also sorry to see that the Ipswich meeting was rained off on the Thursday. Bit of a bummer for you Glasgow fans that travelled all that way and didn't see your own team! A couple of Glasgow fans came to the Young Stars meeting on the Friday, so some people saw a meeting somewhere ;) Oh and nice to meet you superguest after all these years. The power of Twitter or social media in general can be amazing :D

It looks like Lindgren had a good meeting but then Karlsson had a poor night so no benefit from it.

Howarth was a strange choice of guest as he has always struggled away to king's Lynn.

Great to see Bjerre having a much better meeting.

Are you sure about that?

Are you sure about that?

Yes. In fairness a lot of his heats tonight are against PL or FTD riders, it's a bit different to riding against most established riders. With the exception of Tai in a messy first bend (who's on NL riders bike) he has only beat riders that are mainly on the FTD that he should be beating anyway

Didn't he score very poorly during the Stars V Wolves meeting in question?

Yes I'm sure. He's beat Tai once in a messy first bend although Woffy is using NL equipment tonight.

Other than that it's mainly been Rose, Simon Lambert, Stefan Neilsen, Charles Wright & Carl Wilkinson.

i would be very concerned if he couldn't pick up points against them.

He had lost to the riders he would be against in the EL like Cook, King & Nicholls.

I really like Howarth, I just dont think this is one of his best tracks going by his past & recent meetings there.

I know what he scored - it was the comment that he "always" struggles away at KL that I was challenging!

Yes and I still stand by my comment that in the ELITE LEAGUE he does always struggle at King's Lynn. Edited by mdmc82
