Stars V Wolves - Wed 13 May

Guest wolfhound

Aah but what most of you dont understand is that Peter Adams is a master at statistics and averages and when he chooses to go with a guest rider, it is the best decision!

Giving the other riders in the team extra rides is a total unknown as to how many they will score but a guest rider removes the uncertainty and makes PAs job that much easier.

Needless to say, Wolves will get stuffed and PAs decision will come back and bite him in the nether regions!!!

As to what CVS thinks would make interesting news but no doubt he wont comment publicly.

Odd that Wolves have booked a guest and not let Freddie and PK take an extra ride?

Stars should win this in the sunshine, 50-40.

...and don't forget the 30 minute sun delay at the start......

You would think so, although Wolves are the surprise packets of the league so far this year.

Are we?

We've done well at home, which was expected and managed to win at Lakeside.. something that has lost some of its shine given subsequent results.

Apart from that, drubbed at Swindon and Poole.

tbf, you probaly are the side that has overperformed against expectations - the only thing I'd change form my pre-season predictions is that I'd swap you and Leicester from my original pick of 8th and 5th, to a revised pick of 5th and 8th (and Swap Coventry and Poole from 2nd and 1st to 1st and 2nd).

Unbeaten at home (one of only 2 sides with that record) and with an away win thrown in is a pretty solid start.

Should be a comfortable home win. I always prefer a team to use guests instead of the RR as it always slows the meeting down with longer breaks between races. But the trick being is to get adequate riders to fill the breach. Giving riders like Freddie, Karlsson, Wells an extra ride would have been more productive than using Howarth as a guest, so in this case an easier meeting for the Stars to win........... This could seriously be a totally one sided affair..........Shame that,

Hope it is not going to be gate and go tonight. Looking forward to some racing that might restore what little faith I have in the Elite League these days.

You can't stop good riders gating well (that's a skill in itself), they can't be missing the gate on purpose, it takes two determined, well set up teams to produce close racing ....

Yes we are, no one including many Wolves fans thought we stood a chance even at home. Even Poole and Bees have had a thumping loss at home and the Bees in particular are THE team to beat as many expected.

We have exceeded most people's expectations so far despite some still thinking we are the weakest team still - which so far is wide off the mark.

Obviously picking up more points on the road will be the ultimate test to us staying in contention for a top 4 place but there are at least half the current teams that would swap our decent start to the season.

Still top 4 and only Swindon below us have raced the same meetings (Leicester have raced less but aren't in contention at present).

That's better than anyone gives us credit for.

Not been a lot of evidence so far at the Adrian Flux Arena of there being a track conducive to passing, or doesn't the Elite League "do" passing any more, anywhere?

Plenty at Monmore, thanks.

But if you don't have a track where people can pass ...you will get rubbish speedway.

Tell us what is wrong with it.
