Rye House V Scunthorpe 9/5/15

Recommended Posts

Definitely would agree that it was Rye who handicapped by Guest riders.

Seems to be a theme running through some of the Scunthorpe fans that they make excuses for any shortfalls big or small.

I'm not usually one who moans about missing riders costing us results. I was only countering the Scunny fans post about Ben Morley costing them the win. Speedway isn't football, so unfortunately we won't always have first dibs on our contracted foreign riders. Blimey, we can't even call on Edward when we're away and Lakeside are at home and he's an asset!

I'm not surprised to see people turning against Silver snr. I acknowledge he's been great for the sport, but his stubbornness is losing what little support we have left.

Sounded like a decent meeting though

Speedway is always about "what if's") for Scunthorpe being without Ryan Douglas rather than David Howe is a far far bigger handicap and Perk's i'm sure would have scored more than Morley, it will be interesting when Douglas does return as Pijper, Auty , Wilkinson and Davies do not deserve to lose their places in team reshuffling.

Missed Ryan Douglas? His replacement Theo Pijper scored 15!

Great two points last night at Rye Arse; and agree entirely about the reshuffle; when Ryan fly's in May 22 but its a great problem to have and one that the Management are going to have to box clever with. Theo's been top notch this far; and is a really good technical rider; and safe; always looks for the right line and is in full control when he's out there. Wilko's been everything you would ask of him and Alex Davies will just go on getting better and better. Josh is non-negotiable; as Mr Excitement. In fact the team is actually doing what it said on the tin; producing some great action; albeit we have gone down three times at the EWR!. So this is a dilemma;

I am 100% a David Howe supporter but the injury reoccurring is a concern; and we need him back and fit and as soon as possible. At this stage we have our ace to play with Ryan on his way; and then for sure this is a difficult decision. Nike is doing well; visiting tracks for the first time; and would be picking up more in my view if he was on better machinery?. Ellis has not really got into his stride; but he is a talent for sure. So do I not envy the Management making this call; but all the riders can do is keep doing their utmost and lets see where we are come the end of the month, But interesting times are ahead at Scunny for sure.
