Vincent Vega
Another shocking performance tonight surely changes must be made. The way things are going at the moment we will picking up the wooden spoon like in the days of big Ron. 2nd week of May and our season is over already really!! Wouldnt surprise me if AJ didnt bother coming back at all this season. What changes to the team do other Hammers fans think should happen comeback for Bridger? SCB
The thing is, you're buggered. Because your top 5 is fine, it's your reserves, you're losing 10 points a meeting to the opposition at 6 and 7.

Popular Post E I Addio
The thing is, you're buggered. Because your top 5 is fine, it's your reserves, you're losing 10 points a meeting to the opposition at 6 and 7.Exactly . It's an indictment of the total farce they have made of the fast track system. The disparity between the best and the worst of each tier is to large and to many old hands have been included who could easily have been in the 1-5 on merit. Take the Wolves match a few weeks ago for example. Lewis Blackbird was coming out to replace two of the Wolves heatleaders. He made a third place in Heat 13 ahead of GP rider Jason Doylle so he should be well on the way to a fair standard and hardly needs the draft in order to progress. So we had the crazy situation where Wolves got a competent Brit on the cheap, and then spent what they saved on him by hiring a couple of expensive foreigners who got replaced by th e cut-price Brit who was clearly good enough for a 1-5 spot. Then they wonder why they don't have any money. Crazy or what? Then tonight we have blackbird again far out scoring Gomolski who constantly has to be flown in at the cost of an arm and a leg. The other thing is, if you are going to have riders like Blackbird and Auty etc in the draft, the surely on the basis of age and need for experience Ritchie Worral, who is without an EL place, and is far younger than Blackbird and some of the others has an unanswerable claim to be included, as is his brother. Then if Worrall is included why not Ben Barker ? And so it goes on. In a nutshell the public are entitled to expect competitive racing, not two heats per meeting where you can fill the results in before the race even starts, because Garrity or Blackbird are out. The standard has to be either raised or lowered so FTDR riders in the top tier especially are all competitive. Such a great idea once again turned into such a farce Edited May 9, 2015 by E I Addio

Such a great idea once again turned into such a farce Top post as the reserves is still a farce & has to much importance of where a team finish on the league. The minimum should've been that both reserves had to have 4 rides & any extra rides should've come when replacing a top 5 rider.
ShropWolf
You are never goingto have an evenplaying field under the current system. I thought the idea was to showcase young british talent. Edited May 9, 2015 by ShropWolf
mdmc82
Lakeside's downfall was that they decided to keep Ellis when they had first choice in the second draft and could have gone for Rose, Sarjeant, Starke or Bates.
CB252
How can this be so? Surely Ellis is the best tier two rider as his current ranking suggests? Unless Vatcher has fiddled the list? Surely not?!

shinyhine
Fans need to go to this meeting and vent there frustration Too right they do two years back mick Horton had a meeting with fans after our disastrous season and opinions were voiced by the fans and the following year mick had listened and put an entertaining team of reliable racers out and the fans came back along with the team spirit

Falcon Hammer
Lakeside's downfall was that they decided to keep Ellis when they had first choice in the second draft and could have gone for Rose, Sarjeant, Starke or Bates. We could only of got Charles Wright if we didn't choose Adam Ellis. Adam is generally doing his job as a Tier 2 rider. We haven't got a competitive Tier 1 rider though. Hopefully Steve Boxall can add a few points, we have a 3 week break now, so he has time to recover from his recent injury Swindon fans were complaining last season about the disparity in the draft: Didn't realise just how much it effects the result until it happened to us this season I guess you'll all be going to the public meeting that Jon Cook announced last night - should be a good'un!! Definitely, reckon there'll be some massive news on Lakesides future. Jon Cook hasn't been as chipper for a quite a while now; hope everything's OK
stevebrum
standard has to be either raised or lowered so FTDR riders in the top tier especially are all competitive. Such a great idea once again turned into such a farce The standard was raised tho to make it a little fairer than it was last season, plus under this system someone is likely to get the pick wrong. I totally agree with the point you made about the likes of Blackbird, Garrity and Newman needing to be in the main 1-5. They showed last season they are ready. The hammers totally got the first pick wrong. It hasn't been a settled position or a good scoring one. On paper pre pick there looked little between all of the riders so I think that everyone had a fair chance. Ellis I have been impressed with from what I have seen but as 2nd FTR he shouldn't be relied upon to be scoring big points. It's the number 6 position that has let the Hammers down. Bagpuss
I think that Lakeside were unlucky with Birks to be fair, it was reasonable to expect that he could have been a handy performer if he had been able to rediscover his pre injury form. He had done decent matches for Swindon in 2013 and nearly started last season in their top five. Perhaps he would have been given longer had Bech & AJ started the season better and the team had won more meetings. I delayed before the season started that Lakeside could potentially have jag one of the better reserve pairings and I maintain that could have been the case even though it didn't turn out that way. SteveLyric2
If you think the BSPA will let the EL fold just because Lakeside may not be in it, you are somewhat deluded. The usual 'incentives' will be offered to the likes of Sheffield, Ipswich and maybe Glasgow to step up.
