Newcastle Diamonds V Ipswich Witches Premier League 10th May 2015 At 6.30pm

Recommended Posts

Newcastle's first home Premier League match. To reach the play offs we have to win all of our home league matches and pick up a few away points too.

Newcastle

Lewis Kerr

Anton Rosen R/R

Steve Worrall

Christian Henry

Ludvig Lindgren

Simon Neilsen

Lewis Rose

Ipswich

Danny King
Gino Manzares R/R
Nico Covatti
Cameron Heeps
Rohan Tungate
Stefan Nielsen
Ritchie Hawkins

When I start a thread I like to show the teams that I expect to contest the meeting. If the riders are listed wrongly please tell us the revised line up (s)
This meeting is interesting as it includes the return of last years "King Of Diamonds" Danny King. Danny has been going well this season. Well done Danny but we at Brough Park all want to see you get beat!!
For a play off place the Diamonds cannot afford to slip up at home. I think the home form despite the rain offs is good so lets get three points from this match

Diamonds lots Witches not so many!

Witches to produce the usual excuses but change nothing.

Witches fans to sound off in frustration.

Diamonds fans happy with solid home win.

The End.

Is it that bad down in Suffolk? As a speedway fan I do not like to hear of dissent amongst the fans. Redcar fans are unhappy and now we learn that Ipswich may be too.

Whingeing poms at Ippo!!

Whinging? Maybe, but also maybe a few over 40's that are used to seeing the likes of John Louis, Billy Sanders, Shrimp Davey, Dennis Sigalos, John Cook, Chris Louis, Mark Loram, Tony Rickardsson, Tomasz Gollob, Jarek Hampel, Jem Doncaster and Scott Nicholls amongst others, who have worn the Witch on their chest over the years and seen our club win titles in the top tier, are not overly enthused with today's goings on!!

I appreciate the likes of the Scottish Giants Edinburgh and Glasgow have never seen the likes of this quality don their race jacket, but excuse us that have who expect a little better than seeing our club play second fiddle in the second tier of British Speedway!!

As a club that boasts 3 world champions amongst its riders, but we still support at any level,I'm looking forward to seeing the current Witches at Newcastle on Sunday and will enjoy the racing along with Aceslider and others.

We have had 4 world champs Ernie Nicki Pedersen was the fourth but only one world champ that won the title whilst still on our books he was Ivan Mauger. I went to Wembley to support Ivan in 1975 he didn't win that year but our Ole Olsen won it so I was quite happy. The other ex diamond to win the world crown was Anders Michanek.

Will there be any other ex or current Newcastle rider to win the GP series. It looks unlikely so we should train up young Archie Freeman how old is he now? 8 or 9? ;)

5!! We have the current speedway thread starter world champion in our ranks. :)

Ha Ha

It is actually 5 because Brian Andersson's first club was the Diamonds as U21 W Champ in early 90's.
