dantodan
This will be the first league match for the Diamonds. The Monarchs are always a daunting prospect for any visiting team. The Diamonds team of "second strings" will be looking for one or more of our riders to match Sam Masters, Kevin Wolbert and Craig Cook (if fit?). I think the Diamonds will struggle against the Monarchs top three but we will be ok against Edinburghs lesser riders. Newcastle Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen R/R Steve Worrall Christian Henry Ludvig Lindgren Simon Nielsen Lewis Rose Perhaps a Monarchs fan can supply the Edinburgh line up Edited May 6, 2015 by dantodan

Bagpuss
Monarchs top four to score maximums and take the team score to somewhere around 60.

MD
Be interesting to see how Steve Worrall gets on.
TheScotsman
He's "lesser" than your top 3! Ah but if you take the 20 match rolling averages and include BPs then he is ahead of the Kaiser!! Mind you Smiling Sam is on 10.24 on that basis!! Also interesting to see that Cookie is down to number 3 in the 2015 averages with or without BPs. dantodan
Oh, It gets worse for the visiting Diamonds! Sedgy as well as the top three will be looking to notch maximums will they? Newcastle haven't a nine point rider but you know stranger things have happened, all of our riders are capable of winning at least once. A Newcastle win at Edinburgh? 100-01 outsiders but maybe Ludvig and the lads will entertain on the night and foil all the home maximums. I think we will get more than 30 points. ruffdiamond
Would hope the lads can put up a decent effort and score a few more than 30, but hey-ho, if you set the bar low you can't be too disappointed ;-)

Newcastle Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen R/R Steve Worrall Christian Henry Ludvig Lindgren Simon Nielsen Lewis Rose Perhaps a Monarchs fan can supply the Edinburgh line up Teams and write-up from Monarchs' website: The Border Roofing Monarchs will be trying to keep their good start to the Premier League going when they take on Newcastle Diamonds on Friday at Armadale (start time 7:30). The Diamonds were the last team to win at Armadale back in July 2013, and in fact they won twice that season and have been consistently successful visitors over the 19 seasons of the Armadale era. They gave last year’s triple champs their hardest home match of the season in September. TEAMS FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE MATCH AT ARMADALE ON FRIDAY 8th May (start time 7.30, doors open 6.30) are: EDINBURGH BORDER ROOFING MONARCHS: Sam Masters, Erik Riss, Kevin Wolbert, Justin Sedgmen, Craig Cook (capt.), Max Clegg, Rob Branford. NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS: Lewis Kerr, rider replacement for Anton Rosen, Steve Worrall, Christian Henry, Ludvig Lindgren, Simon Nielsen, Josh Bates (guest). ERIK RISS: Erik is currently in the UK undergoing treatment for his broken collar bone. If successful he intends returning to the team on Friday. If not the rider replacement facility will be used again. TOP VISITORS: Newcastle are a team who always come to Armadale with a positive attitude and that’s probably why they have a better record than any other club with 8 victories. This year’s Geordie side is topped by Lewis Kerr at no. 1, a great English prospect who scored 13 last September as his team almost pulled off the shock of the season against the all-conquering Monarchs. Of course one of these very Monarchs was Steve Worrall, architect of much of the team’s success as his average increased by about 4.5 points! He will team up with another very capable ex-Monarch in Christian Henry. Sheffield’s Josh Bates, who has tasted success guesting for Monarchs, guests instead of Lewis Rose who is with his Elite team Swindon at Coventry.
dantodan
Hiya Reider, A good write up. The Monarchs are my favourite side apart from the Diamonds. We need strong northern sides and great local derbies etc, not that our 120 mile drives can be considered a "local" derby but I think you will know what I mean. Win or lose I wish the Monarchs well. I only have our 3 home meetings to draw on. Lewis Kerr.... can fly from the gate and blast around turn two, if he does it takes a v good rider to pass him Anton Rosen... Broken Collarbone so R/R Steve Worrall.... you know better than me how he is likely to go at Armadale. Like Lewis he can fly from the gate, he could be a thorn in the monarchs side. Christian Henry.... The Boomerang is another rider who can gate and leave better riders in his wake Ludvig Lindgren.... Going well this season he can often entertain as he misses the gate and powers around the first two turns. Simon Nielsen... an improving reserve who gets important points Lewis Rose... A Brit with talent who so far has struggled but he gets my vote (not voting for the SNP!). He can be Newcastles dark horse Having said all this about the Newcastle guys. I think Edinburgh are going into this match as red hot favourites to win easily. All I can say is come on Diamonds and prove me wrong. I hope Monarchs fans witness a very entertaining match and fingers crossed the Diamonds get something for us to get excited about

Mr Blobby
Comfortable home win by around 12-15 points Sam and Cookie to go unbeaten. UPDATE Cookie a doubt for tomorrow due to severe headaches he has been having since wednesday, apparently suffers from them on occasions but not quite as bad He will give the promotion a call tomorrow morning if he is fit enough to ride or not hopefully he will be fine. Riss is also still unsure if he is fit to ride or not tomorrow so we will have to wait and see. For the diamonds Bates will be replaced by Luke Crang as Josh crashed at poole on Wednesday and is not fit enough to ride.
