Eastbourne 'it First' Eagles V 'restart' Rye House Raiders (nt)

Recommended Posts

well lets see if chessell can count after the first heat as last week he mentioned that Eastbourne wanted the match off because they were loosing, Luke you will see what loosing is after the weekend xxxx and maybe you can go back to school and learn to count. After saying you wanted the track grippy on Saturday you then managed to fall off twice because of it? well done Mr chesell and i thought that BDJ was numpty but compared to you he is a nice guy.

I will put my cards on the table and go for BWD 11 points, Andrews 7, Bates 6, Mason 8, Owen 9, Dugard 6, WOOD 10, 57 points for me.

Have to say there is a real buzz about the Team and the place this year, Good to see and good to be Eastbourne supporter,

Bid harsh there mate, Chessell is a good guy and ever since he left kent I have looked out for his scores keenly. I would love to see him back in kings colours one day.

As for Johnson i think everyone should give the lad a break. Firstly he is young and had signed for a club which looked to be bringing a far more professional approach to the NL which would get any rider excited for the new season, only to have it all taken away because of a clerical error which the club have gone to great lengths even now to accept as bad mistake. In those circumstances I think most people would be pretty upset and whilst it's not right to air it through social media I think 8 out of 10 of us would of reacted in a similar vein. It appears the club are happy to welcome him to race hopefully the fans are the same.

Turn it on its head, you eagles fans should be proud that he was so upset he was unable to represent your team.

Crikey catinthehat, you've obviously got a big bee in your knickers about Mr Chessell! Put your claws away, the poor numpty ain't that bad! I've advised him to go back to school but he said only if you come with him to brush up on your spelling.

First quote Rachell? Or is there new white writing? :P

Andrews 2 2' 2' 2 1 = 9+2

Bates 0 2 3 2 = 7

Owen 3 1' 2' 3 = 9+2

BWD 3 3 3 2 3 = 14

Wood 3 1 1 2' = 7+1

Dugard 2' 1 3 0 = 6+1

Rye:34

Branford 3 3 4 3 2 = 15

Woods 0 0 1 0 = 1

Johnson 1' 2 0 3 = 6+1

Chessell 2 0 3 1 0 = 6

that's a fairly low score for Johnson , a man with an axe to grind .

My turn but of course this doesn't really take into account fallers or bike problems  Interesting to see our final scores so close Steven but differing rider scores!

Eagles 58

Mason 3, 2*, 3, 0 = 8+1

Andrews 1, 3, 3, 1 = 8

Bates 0, 1*, 2, 3 = 6+1

Owen 3, 2, 1*, 3, 1 = 10+1

BWD 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 = 15

Wood 3, 0, 1, 2* = 6+1

Dugard 2*, 2*, FX, 1 = 5+1

Raiders 35

Branford 2, 6^, 2, 2, 2 = 14

Woods 0, 0, 2, 0 = 2

BDJ 1*, 2, 0, 2 = 5+1

Chessell 2, 1*, 2, F = 5+1

Hughes 1, 1, 3, 1*, 0 = 6+1

Hume 1, 0, 0, 1 = 2i

Bowtell 0, 0, 1*, 0 = 1+1

No way Ryes Reserves are not going to get a F or FX against them on the tight cornered Eastbourne circuit.

it's hard to say, depends how hard they are trying to catch wood & dugard  . would have liked to have been there today but just got up a bit too late to make the trip . i .think it will be a bit closer than jubilee, 101 & islander. I think rye's top three will make a fist of it but middle order and reserves will be outclassed, eagles to win by 18-20 pts . everyone have a good day .

If you are heading to Arlington there are roadworks on the A22 in the vicinity of the stadium The road is just northbound from Eagles roundabout to Diplock Way - the Hailsham by-pass which runs past the stadium turning. Probably to find an alternative route and give yourself more time.

The road is closed because of a burst water main.

Rumours that the water is being caught and put in a tanker for Rye House to take home with them are said to be wide of the mark.

If you are travelling from the north the best bet is to go via Camberlot Road and Upper Dicker then take the Arlington Road past Mitchelham Priory.

From Eastbourne turn off at Eagles roundabout and head into Hailsham go north to Horsebridge and pick up A22 at Boship roundabout heading towards Uckfield. Take left up Coldharbour Road to Upper Dicker. At crossroads turn left towards Arlington Road past Mitchelham Priory.

Every meeting seems to get better. A big thank you to Rob Branford for making this a good one. His clashes with Bradley were great indeed heat 13 will go down as one of the greats. If Bradley is going to realise his potential he must improve his gating. He has no trouble carving past most riders at this level but gives himself a real handicap against the stars. He gave Rob a comfortable 3-0 success in gating, fought like a tiger in heat 11 but just failed, pulled off a wonder pass in heat 13 to stop his maximum and after coming through the traffic in heat 15 tried another flat out round the top of bends 3/4 into the fence. Exciting Thrilling stuff but he lost 2-1.

Luke Chessell also gave us a thrill in heat 14, with Georgie Wood gone away in front Luke was under constant pressure from Mark Owen for second place. Coming out of the final bend Owen at last got by heading for the line but as they reached it a sudden burst from Chessell just got the verdict.

Somebody asked on another thread which we preferred El or NL, its no contest we must make sure we stay where we are. The only disappointment was the crowd, the road closure due to a water main failure will have had some effect but there should have been a lot more than the +/- 400. Where are all the ~Eagles Elite Lge fans, how can we tell them what they are missing?

As for Rye House, they look a 2 man team and were otherwise pretty poor. I don't want to get involved in the Brenden Johnson debate but I am glad he is not here. When Bates made his first ever appearance here last week he looked a reasonable rider but Johnson was all at sea.

The scores just dont tell the story of how entertaining these matches are, some great racing and once again, a great result.

I guess those that stay away think the matches are not close enough. If they were they would probably moan because we made hard work of it and should do better at home.

Could have been nasty for BWD and lucky Georgie managed to lay his bike down.

I though Luke Chessel was entertaining and Rob Branford really lived up to expectation. There wont be many that beat BWD twice in a match round Arlo. Mind you, if the track had not been as slick, I think Bradley would have done him 11.

Hats off to all riders that managed to lay their bikes down when needed. Woods did it twice I think.

As for Brendan, I dont have an axe to grind for him and feel it was a shame he got dropped from our team.

His statement on his twitter does not come over as arrogant or throwing his toys out his pram. Simply a guy how is gutted and upset with his speedway. I wish him all the best.
