Let me think now - which team is he an asset of and which team did he ride for last year and the last month ? Of course, it's Poole - an EL team

But he's a PL rider who doubles up with his parent EL team as a .......wait for .......its on the tip of my tongue...........a second string!!!! :t:

Better to have a guest than r/r and Josh has a good record at Monmore Green i believe so a good choice in my opinion if indeed we had any choice!

Great win for Wolves. Proving people, including myself very wrong with our early predictions. If they can pick up some 4pt away wins then I think they have a good chance of staying in the top 4

Magic is a big miss for Poole at the moment. Any idea when he is back?

It's good to see Holder scoring well as a second string but it now means Watt will likely struggle as a heat leader. People keep saying Poole will be hard to stop once Ward is back but it's not just one rider struggling (although I guess unless direct swap for Magic, two changes would need to be made to fit Darcy in anyway)

Well done to Wolves on an expected home win.

With the team that was selected by Matt Ford and Neil Middleditch at the start of the season, it was always going to blow hot and cold without any real consistency.

Things need to be looked at by Matt but I wouldn't write us off just yet.

Nothing nicer for the Wolves fans than to start the season so well after being put down by people on here...Well done to-date!

Any rules that relegates a recent World Champion to a second string has to be questioned. Then to allow him a double point (T/R) against fellow Reserves and 2nd strings, is beyond imagination.

You couldn't make this up....

This is not a anti-Poole swipe, merely pointing out the ridiculous Rules, Format and CMA's that our Elite league has adopted......

I have no problem at all with Holder riding as a second string. The fact he is a recent World Champion is irrelevant. His form, proved by his average, shows there are 3 other riders in the team with a higher average, end of story.

Edit: I now see that Watt's average increased from 6.71 to above Holder's whilst he was out injured. How did that happen?

I'm guessing the only explanation is that the scores removed from his rolling average were less than the scores added to it.

You've got to be joking? He's relegated to a second string because it's an accurate reflection of his performance.

"Sorry Chris, I know you've suffered severe injuries since you became a world champion, your performance has suffered wherever you ride across the world and you're clearly low on confidence, but for no logical reason whatsoever, other than you've been a world champion before, you must remain a heat leader, ride out of your depth and struggle to score points."

As was expected, you are missing the point. The CMA does not give an accurate reflection of ones ability anymore because the opposition difficulty varies according to what position you race at, so we have all riders on false averages. Chris Holder is a top rider, way too good to be classed as a 2nd string. He is only put in that position because of the race format pushes top 2nd strings CMA above their actual standard

Like I originally posted this is not a dig at Poole, In fact of all the stuff I dislike about Poole, I have a huge respect and liking for Chris Holder and what he has gone through and sincerely wish him a speedy recovery, back to the rider he once was.

Davey's starting average 6.71 was based on the old 28-meeting rolling averages. The May figure is based on the most recent 20 meetings, despite the fact that last night was his first 2015 EL meeting.

Incidentally, I don't know what Chris was doing scoring all those points - he supposed to be getting his average down to below 7 points!!!:wink::D A heat leader trio of Ward, Janowski and Holder will leave just over 10 points for the final 2 riders in the July redeclaration......!! :P:shock::party:

As i said pretty irrelevent Holder riding at number 2 if the person replacing him doesnt score that well, as proved by Watt yesterday.

Magic is a massive loss for Poole but the dreadful inconsistency of the others is proving an issue.

Good win for Wolves over a weakened Poole team.As for the racing well in the first 9 heats there wasn't any, just a trapping contest, even Wolves best pairing of Lindgren and PK couldn't make an inch on Dakota North when he trapped.Three Fifths of the meeting gone and nothing to see !.Thankfully after heat 9 the racing did improve slightly when in started raining and we did eventually get our first genuine outside pass of the meeting in heat 15.If that's the best 2 top teams can serve up on a Bank holiday,on a well prepared track,in front of a good crowd for 18 quid than speedway is in trouble. After waiting a few years for the product to improve I'm now resigned to the fact that it won't,same can be said for the atmosphere which is like a morgue week in week out. After 28 years of going every week to Monmore it might be the time to think about doing something else on a Monday night.

A number 1 rider should be capable of scoring highly home and away and frankly I cannot see Davy Watt doing that consistently. It amazes me that Chris Holder is riding at 2 which looks to be a back door way of average boosting before Darcy Ward's return end of June.

I've not missed the point at all, but instead you have! :) How does that make it unfair on the opposition? If a second string has improved their average and surpassed a heat leaders, then they will in turn face tougher opposition and either continue to excel and maintain their newly earned position or fail to score against the opposition and return to their second string position.

Chris Holder isn't now a second string because the existing second strings have scored better against easier competition, but because his average has dropped nearly 2 points since the start of the season and is clearly struggling in a heat leader role at this moment in time.

You want to read some of the crap you write. ...... You even contradict yourself.

My original point: Chris Holder is ranked within the top 10 riders of the World. Regardless of his current average he is never a 2nd string. Now, if he can be classed like that, then something has to be wrong with the rules.....

Others have seen the point I was trying to make,............. Shame that you couldn't ....
