Crowd was very poor last night, may have been the weather, may have been the club announcing in a recent newsletter that they had already forgotten about the League Cup, may be losing home meetings so early in the season whatever it is the promotion must be worried and need do something to get the missing fans back before its to late. There were suggestions on here a few weeks back that poor entertainment on track and a few home defeats would see fans voting with their feet, these suggestions were ridiculed as attention seeking, the fact is crowds are dwindling.

as I say enjoy while you can really can't see us here next year Edited by Goodiepatchie

It wasn't ridiculed. It was , however, pointed out that a few will likely get their wishes come true next season.

It will then be like the last time, all the people who had plenty to say suddenly vanished.

All mouth and no (positive) action comes to mind.

Great news that Alex has nothing broken :)

Richard Hall been announced as a replacement for Luke Crang. A change had to be made, Luke was just not ready for the Premier League, it was obvious to see. Hopefully he can get his confidence back up in the National League for Coventry. Makes us a bit stronger at reserve.

A lot of things have conspired against the club in the opening few weeks. Ben's injury, the team's collective equipment problems and defeats to local teams haven't helped.

The postponement last week, early on, when the weather at night turned out to be perfect. Fans chose alternative entertainment for the night.

The hold up last night waiting for medical cover to arrive, on a cold night, meaning fans did not get a full night's racing.

There are plausible reasons behind each of these, but unfortunately in this day and age, with customers expectations, it's just driving more and more fans away from the sport.

The delay for ambulances kill meetings stone dead.

Unfortunately, I cannot see a solution to this?

A bit of that chat last night was there are still far too many accidents throughout speedway, and it seems to coincide with new silencer regulations, and other bike changes.

Maybe time to look at this.

3 man races due to injuries is also something that has to be addressed in the sport.

On the plus side, Barker, Joergenson and Vissing were really flying last night. So were Worrall and Howarth.

Good to see a track where these guys were winding it on round the fence.

Jorgenson looks are real talent, the way he can work the bike and tries about 100 different lines when not in front.

Definitely one to watch.

Hall at reserve potentially makes as a very strong outfit.

If you had watched Hall ride for panthers last year you wouldn't be seeing your team be strengthened that much.

If it's all gate and go he certainly wasn't gating last year.

Entertaining yes but not points scoring.

The main problem in Berwick is the fact that the nearest A&E is 50 miles away. When we had an a&e here st johns used to supply 2 ambulances every race night and this worked fine.

You can't compare Berwick to Newcastle because the RVI is only 10 mins away I don't know what the answer is I wish I did

The distance from the track to the nearest A&E has nothing to do with it. Two Ambulances arrive at Brough at 6 o'clock every week for the 6.30pm start and remain there all meeting (unless one has to go away with a rider, of course). These are supplied by NE Rescue & Medical Services and come with a Paramedic.

Two Ambulances - At least 1 doctor + at least 1 Paramedic, should be a solution

A few rotten apples...

There are a few folk who don't come any more, not because of what is on track, but they have been worn down by the relentless negativity of some.

That really is quite a sad situation.

Still, I'll enjoy the season and hope for another.

I remember when Peter announced that he was moving on, some of the most vocal critics just disappeared.

Hopefully, if we are in that situation again (which I hope we are not), they will step up to the mark this time.

Or, it will be gone forever. It would never get back through planning again.

It goes back to the old saying, be careful what you wish for.
