Recommended Posts

First 3 riders announced

Nicki Pedersen

Tai Woffinden

Chris Holder

Just seen news on Twitter, great to see. Suspect an Aces stand might be present at Cardiff on the weekend, should shift a few more tickets for March 2016 - bring it on!

  • 3 weeks later...

The one rider i would love to be there for the opening is Alan Wilkinson, was there that night in 1978 against Swindon when he had his accident. Come on Belle Vue, move heaven & earth to get him there

I'm sure he'll be asked...after all Chris Morton was a teammate at the time of the accident and he was a legend to fans who were attending at the time.......whether he'll be able to attend is another issue but I'm sure he'll be asked...I'm sure many ex Aces riders will be in attendance...it would be nice to have a parade of ex Aces riders from over the years.

We attended every meeting at Hyde Road in 1978 except the one when Wilkie was injured as we were at a wedding that night.....in many ways I'm glad I missed it.

I've always wondered why clubs don't offer free entry to the first meeting of the season to get people "in the habit"?

Middlesbrough and Glasgow did for a few years . got people in the habit alright , of going to speedway only when it was free !!

Not beyond the realms of possibility ... Jason Crump

Don't think I will be going. My lovely lady paid £49 to buy a brick for me as a pressie when they were first announced & have had nothing back, despite her repeated requests. I even saw Chris Morton at Cardiff & asked him to look into it. I gave him 3 telephone numbers & two e-mail addresses & not a dickie bird.

If this is how he does business, he won't get any money out of me. Absolutely disgusting.

You just can't be sure these days :D

Despite the joking I assume he means a commemorative certificate of some sort and if true he hasn't received acknowledgement of any kind after numerous attempts then it is p!ss poor
