John Leslie
2 adults and 2 grandaughters £64 to stand on a banking £64! 2 x adults and 2 x £8 children is £56 not £64. And if the kids are under 12 then they are free. And there's no banking for you to stand on. You'll either be under the covered terracing of the back straight stand, or the terracing on the bends. To be honest I would have hoped for a slightly reduced cost. No doubt, for opening night it will be a good crowd, speedway fans from all over the country will likely attend but in truth these are not the ones needed week in week out. £25.00 (or even £20.00) is not likely to tempt someone with no affinity to the sport to come along. £10.00 or £12.00 with a big marketing push locally, get a few thousand new fans, show them a vibrant product in a packed stadium and hope it comes across well enough to get them to come back. Hope it does work out for the Aces, I suspect, weather permitting, I will be making my first visit in nearly 10 years to this one

Why would they charge £10, when they can fill the stadium at £20/£25 ? I believe Manchester United fill Old Trafford at an average ticket price of £45. Why don't you suggest to them that they charge a tenner?
oldace
And people accuse promoters of having no business sense! Why don't you suggest to them that they charge a tenner? Exactly what I just said, it will be full no matter what, even at £20.00/£25.00 The point I was making was it will be full of largely existing speedway fans who wont provide the week in week out fans the stadium needs. Old trafford is full each week at £50.00 and will likely continue to be so, you dont sell a ticket for a pound when you can get £2.00 over and over, thats common sense. It would be nice though if the opening night in a packed stadium was witnessed by a few thousand new customers. Of course they can only fit 6000 in and as you say need to make the most of it Like I said I wish the venture well Edited April 30, 2015 by Oldace

I'll meet you halfway it's £60 (including the booking fee of £4) on the terracing, banking same thing- no seats. £84 in The Stand (inc £4 fee). The White Knight
Just don't see the need to be selling tickets eleven months in advance, surely November / December when the main infrastructure of the track and main stand are in place would be better. Would you book a hotel room before it had been built ? Lots of people do. Bruiser McHuge
The ticket prices are not excessive and are likely to sell and I'm sure a good crowd will be attracted... But......only diehard speedway fans will buy tickets this early......I would have liked some extensive advertising closer to the event with cheap tickets that would attract non speedway fans to come and have a look......people buying tickets this early are likely to be existing Aces fans who will return anyway or out of town speedway fans coming to see the new stadium but will be watching their own team for the rest of the year... Extensive local advertising closer to the event with cheap family offers would attract curious newcomers and these are the fans the Aces need to attract and then keep....but you have to lure them there in the first place or else you are just left with a load of Kirky Lane regulars in a different setting and the Aces and the stadium need a lot more than that.
Grand Central
I don't deliberately try to go against the grain but I thought the pricing seemed quite reasonable. My slight gripe is that I emailed Belle Vue earlier in the week to enquire about hospitality etc and have had no reply. I was looking to do a little more than just buy a ticket and no one has got back as yet, which is a shame.
Trevor
For the grand opening, I thought the prices were fair, too be honest having bought tickets for Football, Tennis and Cricket in the past, I was expecting them to be higher for this meeting. So pleased to see fair prices. I've got mine booked, and liked to select the exact seat with the plan etc.
SCB
I think the pricing is ok for the first meeting, with a hopefully decent line up. They fill that up with anyone they can and get a big pile of cashing, meaning the few weeks after they can charge a lesser price, attract more local newbies. SteveLyric2
I wonder how many of speedway's 'great and good' will be there on a 'freebie'?? That's probably why its more expensive for those that do pay!

At least a few I bet.

And have donation buckets no the way out. Throw in what you think the meeting is worth. Should also keep everyone on their toes to make sure meeting 1 is a success, people far more likely to drop a £20 note in and not ask for change if it's a good meeting, but more likely to drop nothing or a fiver in if it's a bit rubbish. It isn't every day that Speedway opens a new National Speedway Arena.
