cyclone
There would be nothing wrong with Cook doubling up if he prioritised his EL matches. Missing testing meetings for Belle Vue so that he can breeze to effortless maximums for Edinburgh is daft and does nothing for his development. Until BV are willing to make Craig their asset (i.e. pay a transfer fee), then why should their fixtures take priority over Edinburgh ? They also have Fricke on a loan deal from Edinburgh btw. marko
Don't blame the riders, blame the promoters, they are the ones which came up with this silly format and agreed to have to pay the heat leaders a fixed wage as result of their earning potential being compromised. It's not an easy conundrum to solve particularly but it seems silly to me that any rider striving to improve would miss higher level meetings to race in a second division. Many of these clashes could be avoided with better fixture planning anyway!

Bagpuss
You won't get us Monarchs fans agreeing with you I doubt I will, but I'm able to look at things from a neutral perspective. And from the point of view of wanting Cook to develop into a world class rider.
