Wolves Vs Bees 27/04/15

Recommended Posts

I think most will understand totally what I meant by that comment. Musielak got 4 and Thorssell just 1. If somebody had told me that beforehand I'd have expected a win.

Any less from Fred and PK and the Bees could have nicked this despite a dreadfully sub par showing from 4 of the top 5.

Joonas dreadfully sub par ?? What would you call a par score for him ?? Surprised he didnt get heat 15 to be honest !!

Papered over the cracks? A team that has won 3 on the bounce, including away at fortress Arena?

If beating a team that looks nigh on invincible from heat 1 to finish is 'papering over the cracks ' long may those cracks remain!

Where has any Bees fan said we are invincible???

There is no doubt Bees fans are more than happy with the 3 away wins, but we did not encounter a top 2 of Lindgren and Karlsson riding as well as they did last night.

At Leicester their number 2 Pedersen was worse than woeful.

At Poole Janowski was injured and Lawson was never going to score like him, whilst Holder was not happy on the bumpy track

At Belle Vue Zagar rode like Pedersen.

He beat Bates and Greenwood in his first, Thorssell in a three rider race when the equally poor King fell, got 5-1d by Wells and Blackbird in a shambolic heat 9 showing and slithered to a win over PK in a rain storm in 14.

He can and must do better.

So can our so called No1 but not much has been said about that.

A good well fought local derby in front of a decent crowd,my only concern is what an earth has happened to the outside pass at Monmore Green ? 3 matches at Monmore this year only 5 outside passes, all against fast track reserves, the entertainment would be so much better if riders had the chance to regularly pass on the outside as well as the inside.I would question what the team managers are saying to their teams as you see riders time and time again move of the line to passed up the inside (Thorsell did it twice in one race) The golden rule at Monmore now is don't let them up the inside !

I thought Jason Garrity cost the Bees the match last night,in his first 2 heats he resembled Leigh Adams style wise, smooth, great to watch, his problems come when he doesn't make the start, currently his way is to use muscle to get himself back in contention. As was seen last night this just leads to recklessness, exclusions and possible serious injury, you must have a calm brain and a plan B and realise a race lasts 4 laps not just 1 bend.Without this he won't make the progress that he should because he has talent.

They got crushed at home by Poole ..if you get beat how can you be invincible ?

Not sure I would call losing by 7 points a crushing lol.

Not sure how people can say Cov weren't weakened at reserve. Sarjeant would have scored more than 1 on a bad night esp with Blackbird struggling in the reserve races.

I am more than happy with what the Bees have achieved so far this season. With most teams looking good at home, I think away points are going to play a even bigger part this year so great to already have 13 of them after only 4 meetings 😄

Bees and Poole look miles apart from the rest. Both beat each other convincingly. I'd be surprised if any team turns either over.

I think you have to be very careful taking anything from a Bees/Pirates meeting as they often throw up some weird and wonderful results. Then we got a result at Leicester and BV. Leicester are a bit hit and miss and BV, I think we just hit them on a good/bad (depending on who you are) day. Zagar had a stinker and when your number 1 is that bad, it's always going to be difficult.

I think we have a good team, I think we should be in the play-offs but we are not invincible, I don't even think we're as good as we were in 2007 and we probably lost about 6 or 7 meetings at season. If Garrity can find some consistency, Joonas can score comfortable points when he's a heat leader from Friday (as so far he's not scored many points beating the top guys) then I'll be happy we're set fair for the play-offs and can be Champions. For now I'm just happy we're in a good place, have points on the board, we have everyone chasing us and things seem to generally be going well.

I would expect them to say it Shawn, but not necessarily follow it up with actions!

A few years back chatting to Tim Stone in the bar at Newport he stated he didn't go out to win, he needed to make money and that was his focus. I wasn't sure if I admired his honesty or through he was stark raving bonkers! I get it's a business and has to be run as one but surely you have two equal focuses when you start building your team - to make money and win the league. Like you, I would expect any promoter to at least publicly claim he's going all out to win, Tim Stone didn't! Though I think that was the biggest issue with Tim, he was brutally honest at times :D

Recently another promoter (and I cannot think who it was at the moment -possibly Neil Machin) said he made more money in poor seasons results wise than season where the club did well - if thats true you'll probably find a few promoters who are happy to plod along, giving he fans the odd year of success to placate them,

I don't get the criticism of Joonas. If he can score 8 away from home consistently he has done more than his job. Harris didn't have a great night but that's probably his 1st sub par score for us this season. It's a point to the tally, roll on tonight.
