Wolves Vs Bees 27/04/15

Recommended Posts

Don't think you can write the Bees off just because of Greenwood being in the line up. I've rarely seen Sarj do well at Monmore, so he'd probably have only taken points off Bates anyway.

Sarj has always outscored his counterparts at Wolves. Over shadowed by Garrity tho.

Any news on who is the centre-green announcer tonight - 'Porky' or 'Yorky'?

Back to normal tonight with the king of presenters back in his rightful place.

Wish Wolves would sort out this bloody track. Terrible problems on the first bend. Somebody is going to get injured before this meetings over at this rate.

A lot of falls in this meeting, is there something wrong with the track as nearly every race?

No issues with the track, bees riders getting into trouble on apex of bend tho.Causing the problems and getting away with. Garrity dropped it twice on entrance to bend 1 and rightfully got excluded for it 2nd time around. Thought Bomber and the Bees could ride the track or do they only moan when losing

But Porky is an idiot.

You should listen to him every week. You'd soon get tired of him.

Speak for yourself. York is beyond banal and dull and can't bear him on the mic at Monmore.

Porkie is a legend and best presenter in the biz.

A decent meeting ruined by inept referring decisions. Most of the incidents were on the 2nd bend so a decision and exclusion needed . Griffin was clearly a Bees fan in the vast majority of decisions as they got away with plenty tonight. The only 1st bend issues were for Garrity who rightly got caught out for dropping it one too many times. Heat 9 was a sweet one particularly given that Joonas had got away clear before Garrity dropped it to get a rerun. Sometimes, you really get what you deserve!

If anything Wolves had the edge all the match which I didn't expect but never too comfortable to breathe easy.

Why there was confusion over heat 14 was beyond we. Apparently they needed discussions prior to the heat with light rain and by the time they made a decision it was raining hard. #GETONWITHIT.

Bees and Andersen showed their hands in heat 15 by forcing the decision to carry on believing they could nick a win know the final race however fast Fred and PK showed them it was all wishful thinking.

WOLVES

FRED - untouchable and back to his very best.5/5. Joint MOTM

RICKY - big get off in heat 1 (caused by Andersen ) but was much better in his last 2 heats. 3/5

TOBBY - an awesome 1st heat to out smart Bomber but then went backwards after that. 2/5

PK - just one defeat but had already rescued heat 14 just In case the meeting got called. 5/5

JACOB - tried hard but got exposed by a solid visiting outfit. 0.5/5

LEWIS - besides heat 9 had a mare of a match. Yet again his junior partner stepped up but still think he should have been in heat 8. 1.5/5.

JOSH - only had to beat Greenwood, which he did 3 out if 3. Also beat Garrity. 3/5. Joint MOTM.

BEES

Hans - no match for Fred or PK. 2.5/5

Robbo - always good value at the green. 3.5/5.

King - a largely quiet night. 1.5/5

Joonas - excellent night and effort. 3.5/5

Bomber - fair effort and scrapped hard in a couple of heats, still not one of his better meetings. 2/5.

Garrity - controlled and awesome in his first 2 heats then seemed to try get away with as much as he could. Including 2 jumped starts and a get off to get a recall. He got away with 1 out if 3 and that's 1 too many. 3/5.

Greenwood - scored a potentially vital point in heat 12 beating Blackbird. 0.5/5

I thought it was a cracking local derby with some poor refereeing decisions thrown in. Bees got a point but their promoter will be worried losing their invinsible tag. Wolves are not firing on all cylinders yet and come 1st May Freddie and PK will ride in 3 heats together with PK at 5. I love it when we beat the bees.😀😀😀😀

No team is invinsible Shropwolf and I'm sure our promoter is more than aware of that. We have lost a meeting before this one. When we were against Wolves a couple of weeks ago, Sarjeant only dropped 1 point to an opposing rider all night and that was PK! Had he been riding, I have no doubt the result would have been very different.

Sounds like we left a few points on the track which is disappointing but it's another point towards the playoffs.

👍 this is the best way I have heard it summed up yet.

Apart from the B fixture last year in which he was the lowest scoring reserve on either team but the Bees still won?!

This wasn't lost at reserve it was lost because four of our top five were woeful (including Joonas despite what some are posting). Wolves had two heat leaders that only scored 5 points between them and Wells only got 6 but they weren't made to pay.

I do love your match reports Steve. Unbiased to the end (all incidents always the fault of the opposition!).

They remind me of the sort of match report that I'd have written about meetings at Brandon when I was 12!

Well mainly because we only had 5 race winners and 2 of those were for Garrity, tonight our heat leaders have to look at themselves, Bomber was very poor, King was abysmal, whilst Hans looked slow, I agree we never looked dangerous, and congratulations to Wolves who were far superior on the night. Congrats to PK he was amazing as was Freddie Lindgren.

I think that's a bit harsh. Visitors are always going to be up against it when the home top two are on fire, especially at Wolves and especially when it's Lindgren and PK. Harris and Andersen met one of those two in all but two of their rides. Look at the rest of the Wolves' Scores. One league point is fair enough in the circs.

We never thought we were invincible - but are pleased to have match points on the board so early in the season.

Well a great meeting moments to temember the pole in heat 3 and greenwoods point and garrity falling off all in all a well deserved point but could have been better with a bit of discipline

Big mention to robbo for fighting for his job supposedly

Up the bees

Why is Robbo supposedly fighting for his job, i would be looking at our so-called no1!

If you were at Monmore Robert, unless you were wearing blinkers, I think you would agree, Lindgren And Karlsson did not only beat our trio, they did it so easily and by the proverbial mile.

The ref did his best to try and spoil an otherwise entertaining match, I don't think I've seen anybody give such a inept performance! The man just couldn't or wouldn't make a decision, twice calling an all 4 back for incidents on the 2nd bend. Ran at a snails pace with no sense of urgency then to hit the 2 minute button in panic when the rain came, also having the mini interval when rain was starting, not the first time this has happened at Wolverhampton, it all led to a late finish and a journey home on a single lane of the M6

It'll be intetesting to see how this affects Wolves. Thorssell will no doubt improve at 2 or 4, but will it lessen PKs scoring power being a heat leader?

I'd actually put PK at three if I were Wolves, as the fact that he and Freddie were kept apart in the first 14 heats gave Wolves a stronger look and papered over the cracks in the rest of the top five on the night.

I agree, reserves weren't the issue last night - not when you have Garrity who rides like a heat leader at Monmore. As for ref decisions, if you can name me one if those incidents caused by a home rider then you clearly were watching another match!

my match reports are mean to be light hearted and a bit of fun. Praise and criticism given in equal measures. Plus there is plenty to crow about by beating our local rivals who look THE team to beat this year. Obviously will have to wait a long time for a match report from rjsj9803 but I sure they would be worth the miss.

Talking of posts by a 12 year old - Always good to criticise when you contribute so little relevant information yourself.

Papered over the cracks? A team that has won 3 on the bounce, including away at fortress Arena?

If beating a team that looks nigh on invincible from heat 1 to finish is 'papering over the cracks ' long may those cracks remain!

I think most will understand totally what I meant by that comment. Musielak got 4 and Thorssell just 1. If somebody had told me that beforehand I'd have expected a win.

Any less from Fred and PK and the Bees could have nicked this despite a dreadfully sub par showing from 4 of the top 5.

If ifs. If the Bees had king and Harris scoring to their averages you might have nicked a point as well.

Musielak, like at lakeside, had one good ride (in his 1st heat this time though ) that made all the difference. If Wells hadn't been knocked off in heat 1 and scored like he did last week we would have won by more.

On the night Wolves had a top 2 firing on all cylinders and you had nobody able to compete, yet have managed to win comfortably at 3 other places up to last night.

Wolves despite being written off by everyone pre season seem to still be seen as vulnerable despite beating the best team this season. The boys did a grand job as far as I'm concerned.
