R87
Thought it was the best meeting at Monmore this season and we were worthy winners. Yes Coventry kept it close during the night, but it never really felt like they were in it. Really nice to see PK rewarded for his achievement with a presentation by Sam Ermolenko before the meeting. As for the falls, at least three of them should have resuted in exclusions as they were on the coming out of the second bend, not entering the first bend. In particular Garrity who - although very entertaining to watch - still tends to panic if he misses the gate. One little moan is the number of riders who were getting off their bikes to garden and not being excluded. This happened a couple of times against Lakeside too. If the referee's aren't going to enforce the rules, why bother introducing them?

Great meeting. Had it all. Well done to Wolves. Edited April 27, 2015 by superguest

If the referee's aren't going to enforce the rules, why bother introducing them? That rule never made it to the final version!!!! Stipulation is rider can dismount, as long as machine pointing the right way, he never lets go of the machine and his cut out is fitted. He can then garden to his hearts consent... The rule was modified because it is hard for short riders to do any meaningful gate prep without getting off machine!!!!!!

The score was 43-31 going in to the last heat so not sure why it felt like Coventry were never in it? Good to see Peter Karlsson get recognition for his commitment to the club. We don't see loyal riders like him enough nowadays
R87
As I say, the score was close throughout, but I felt Coventry were a bit below par from what I expected. Admittedly they weren't at full strength though.
BWitcher
Wish Wolves would sort out this bloody track. Terrible problems on the first bend. Somebody is going to get injured before this meetings over at this rate. A lot of falls in this meeting, is there something wrong with the track as nearly every race? Listening to it on radio. Been first bend fall in most races. He says it's too wet. I would suggest its to do with two teams not giving an inch and going for it on a race track that allows them to do so.. So no, the track doesn't need 'sorting out' at all.

double_O
Well deserved win for Wolves as Bees not up to scratch tonight. Garrity needs to engage his brain cell all the time. Why oh why did they have the interval with the rain due. With PK and Lindgren head and shoulders above everyone else, it was odds on PK would have won heat 14 if it had been dry and we would have lost by 8 pts. shinyhine
Well a great meeting moments to temember the pole in heat 3 and greenwoods point and garrity falling off all in all a well deserved point but could have been better with a bit of discipline Big mention to robbo for fighting for his job supposedly Up the bees Edited April 27, 2015 by muffinman

Harris seemed to be struggling a bit for speed tonight. That's now 13pts from 4 away meetings which is brilliant. Another point is that Bees are the only team in the league to have not yet used a TR (hope that doesn't come to a end on Wed 😜) Great to see the two teams speedway star predicted finishing 7th & 8th, currently sitting 1st & 2nd. Somebody is going to get injured before this meetings over at this rate. Bloomin' 'eck woman, give it a rest, how could you tell the track was bad from the radio? It was prepared superbly as Monmore generally is. Great meeting that was somewhat marred by the wet finish that was needless given the forecast and the black clouds overhead that were a dead give away. Why take an interval? Sarjeants absence had little impact as I predicted earlier. The Bees lost this with some dreadful performances in the top 5 (Robbo apart). Still, to be two points down going into 15 when you've ridden poorly is a good achievement. Much better required at King's Lynn or a drubbing awaits.
speedybee
Great racing, as ever at Monmore and not a lot wrong with the track IMO other than everyone going for the Karlsson corridor at the same time. First bend did get a bit slick from several heats in which caused several riders to overslide but I still rate the circuit as amongst the abound for close racing with much overtaking. For Bees, Robson and Kylmakorpi excelled but Harris was clearly suffering from the effects of what looked like a painful first bend spill. Add to that Robson's engine fail while placed third in Heat One, Danny King's third turn bail out while in a scoring position and Jason Garrity going awol in his third and fourth outings and we should have been there or thereabouts . Porky (I think) went on about Coventry gambling on running the last heat in the rain and coming away with nothing, which confused me as Bees clearly came away with the point! full-throttle
went hoping for a bees victory, but as early as the third heat, it was going to be a struggle. As mentioned earlier, a couple of falls cost the bees, Greenwood looked steady so it was good to see him score a point. Once again some great action from Monmore.

Good to see Peter Karlsson get recognition for his commitment to the club. We don't see loyal riders like him enough nowadays Well mainly because we only had 5 race winners and 2 of those were for Garrity, tonight our heat leaders have to look at themselves, Bomber was very poor, King was abysmal, whilst Hans looked slow, I agree we never looked dangerous, and congratulations to Wolves who were far superior on the night. Congrats to PK he was amazing as was Freddie Lindgren. I think the crowd looked smaller than usual for a local derby, no doubt caused by the damned roadworks on the M6, 1.5 hours each way from Solihull, I like Monmore but I could not face a journey like that every week, horrendous. But Porky is an idiot. Porky is brilliant he made what was an average meeting a lot of fun, admittedly that is compared to what we put up with at Brandon, and the music selection was far superior also.
Bee 26
Track seemed like is was watered late and looked a little sticky to begin with. Bees never looked like they were going to win but fancied us getting something in the last heat. Personally would have put Korpie in rather than Hans who had just gone out and beat PK in heat 14 Bomber, Hans and King all had a poor meeting, Robbo and Korpie the only two who stood out Did well to come away with a point

I think you make a good point MFE. As I mentioned a bit earlier in this topic, I feel more like 3pts lost than a point gained. If we could get so close with James missing and poor nights for our top 3, imagine what we could have done if they had performed like they usually do. Personally with Kylmakorpi having just beaten PK and having a good night, I was really surprised he wasn't given heat 15. Not sure it would have made a lot of difference though. Does anybody know if Harris hurt himself at all in his crash? Edited April 27, 2015 by Two minutes notice
