dazzafl
No, please don't stop it now. It's priceless. Woffinden is apparently an ill advised multi-millionaire who, if he was a true Brit would be more interested in gaining British Final titles rather than world titles individually or otherwise. wish someone would ill advise me to being a multi millionaire.. SPEEDY69
suggest you re read mine... its a GP his bikes have to be in this country.. i know he hasnt got any bikes in this country.. his tuner may well be here.. but he doesnt have any bikes in this country. yeah he could do that couldnt he.. haha.. some people really need to think things through time.. travelling etc.. didnt ride in the semi's really please try a bit harder.. Okay I'll make it a little easier. You say that Tai has at least two sets of bikes, one for the GP and one for league racing. In Cardiff, he will have one set in the UK and one in Poland. At no point at any time do these two sets of bikes ever meet, so he couldn't take bike number three from one set and exchange it for bike number three from the other set? Surely you can see how that it is ridiculous to suggest the reason for not competing is because of a lack of equipment. "We've got a job for you Speedy, it's in another country... you'll have to get the equipment there for it. That'll cost you a couple of grand, but don't worry we'll pay you £100 for it". I'm sure you'd be rushing to do it. I'm much more inclined to believe it was a money issue than an impossibility. However I'd question your figures there as you've simply made them up. Bringing a bike to the UK in the back of someone else's van (and this goes on all the time with riders), costs very little and nowhere near £2000. Forgetting the spin and figure massage to support points, people decide on priorities all the time on the balance of want/need/resource etc. and I think he decided the British Final was simply not a priority. It's that decision I think was wrong. Checking out now! Edited June 23, 2016 by SPEEDY69

I feel it was about money and his attitude of I am too good for the British final. Dazzafl too many weak excuses for tai, he could of done it if he really wanted too. chris4gillian
Why on earth are people still feeding the thickie troll? I've stopped, so can we please all do the same? Then maybe he'll shut the hell up on this topic. The FACTS, not personal opinion, speak for themselves. This is all any of us need to know. Now let's end this ridiculous thread FFS!!! sparkafag
"This has been a very difficult call for me. However, I have to look after myself. I cannot afford a repeat of what happened to me in 2014 when I became burnt out mentally and physically. "I've worked so hard to get to this position and now I have to capitalise. It's not in any way showing disrespect to my national championship, I will always be proud to say I have won the British title in three successive years. "Perhaps my absence from the British Final opens up the field, not just for the title, but for someone new to get a place at Cardiff." Woffindens own words, nothing to do with money, where bikes are or aren’t and nor does he actually say he is done with the British Final. There is no need to “believe it is about money” or even the need to drag yourselves down to roberts level arguing about the logistics of getting bikes to and from the event - in Woffindens own words it was nothing to do with that, it is a non existent argument, be as well talking about the Easter Bunny.

BWitcher
Bless his little cotton socks, he might get tired... Correct, he might. Why put yourself in a position to lessen your performance? He will have planned his schedule as best he can to ensure he a: Earns well b: Stays in optimal shape/condition

Trees
The main thing is we have this rider, who we may never see ride in our country properly again, maybe once a year at Cardiff if u go, that's it basically, in a nutshell.

Winston Reid play football? Lydia Ko play golf? Scott Dixon race cars? How often did Ivan Maurer race in nz at his peak? Fact is sports stars compete where they can earn the most money, best establish themselves at the elite level and have optimum chance of achieving their respective sports ultimate prize.

Only heard of Ivan Mauger, (his country was on the oyher side of the World, he didn't commute to his meetings from there like Tai does from the UK), that's part of the point I'm making, ah never mind, we will agree to differ .... Gresham
For all the money in the world, I wouldn't want the life of Tai Woffinden. He say's himself, he isn't the brightest button academically. So he's found himself a way of making a very decent living from something he's good at. I suggest anyone who's not see it, watch it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MoH6ayPbKo It'll give you some idea of what he's been through in his life, how he copes with it, and the amount of hours he travels....and the very little sleep he gets. As someone who has to fly a lot with work, I can't describe bad enough, how tiring, monotonous, and stressful this experience has become. Let alone all the driving on congested roads. As a professional sportsman at the pinnacle of his career, you need to find ways of keeping to your optimum performance level. I can totally understand why he's dropped riding in certain meetings over here. Daft to suggest, that he should 'think of the fans' if he knows he won't be able to perform at the best of his ability. He's found what works best for him...fair play to him. I'd love someone to tweet him this thread...Who'd blame him, if he never rode in Britain again after reading it...it's cringe worthy.

Sidney the robin
Weird thing is i was never a fan of Woffy first of all, but i changed my mind i so admire what he has achieved. As for his Nationality he is English his dad who i see ride was a real character when i first see him ride what a really exciting rider to watch. When Rob went the hurt spurred Tai on i think, when he has a good day he thinks of his dad i am sure.He got his WCard entry as a 500/1 outsider in the series i did not agree i was so wrong boy did he take the P... took his chance.Over the years i supported PC (prefered Lee😀) Loramski,Screen, and now Tai we should support him why do us Brits knock people down strange really.
