dazzafl
i think the biggest reason is his 6 days straight riding.. thursday sweden friday practise for GP saturday GP sunday Poland Monday British Final (not happening) Tuesday Sweden tell me another rider in the british final that has that as a list of rides ???? plus he would have to get the bikes here to use them as I would bet he doesn't have any in the UK.. that wouldn't happen from any where... now tell me its because he couldn't be bothered Edited June 9, 2016 by Dazzafl

Being World Champion is the ultimate goal and he is contracted to do Poland. The British Champion is a title but not as big as one as World Champion. Its no longer a qualification stage like it used to be. Therefore how high up the priority list is it for a World Champion?? It isnt and its pretty obvious why not to most people

It isnt and its pretty obvious why not to most people we could get him a push bike to ride on.. I was on the fence a bit but w few minutes looking at that time table I know exactly why he isn't riding.. where would the bikes he used come from.. they would have to be driven here.. or flown... who is going to pay for that.. and if driven his drivers I don't think would get back to Sweden in time for his next programmed ride there.. that now speaks complete sense.. and NOT ONE RIDER HAS THAT SCHEDULE... do not blame Tai one bit for not doing it.. TRM
I will put my rod away now, very rarely use it.. Not having Tai in the British Final is terrible, whoever wins it will feel deep down (I would think) that if Tai had been there, they wouldn't of won it.. It's happened before when riders have won meetings when one or more superstsar has been absent, it's been talked about on here in the past as well, can't remember which thread it was though.. Do you think Tai feels like this because Emil is choosing not to ride in the GP's?
ColinMills
in response to above posts, cardiff gp? poland thursday 7 caradiff 8 practice, cardiff 9 gp, poland 10, sweden 12. YES hes contracted to race those, but it can be done, and its been done loads of times before I disagree as whoever wins this year will get IF tai was riding you probably wouldn't be British champion and also any rider in the British final who is happy tai isn't riding doesn't have ambition as you have to beat the best to be the best.I think bomber would be a good captain now, he has changed since his early days plus tai is to far up his own rear end to be a good captain. I would love to see a manager change back to middlo too. you reckon Tai thinks that when Emil not in GP?

Of course it could be done but if you dont need to why bother?? He cant just drop Cardiff! All the GP boys have moaned about their diary around Cardiff and rightly so. The British Final is low on the list for a world champion with the other meetings around it, and why people cant see that is beyond me!

Personally, I would of liked to of seen Tai go the extra mile on this occasion, but its not to be. I'm sure no-one will be bothered once ht1 of the world cup final starts! BWitcher
whilst I agree with your post, I just ask his calendar this gp week? That merely emphasises the point further. He isn't going to be skipping GP rounds is he, nor can he skip meetings for the clubs he is contracted too. Therefore, OPTIONAL events are the ones to go. I think hes made some rash twitter quotes that don't help his cause with some fans as well. now if I'm in HIS shoes, I see his point, world title comes 1st 2nd and 3rd....but one thing no-one can disagree on, is his commitment in the world cup, that 21 pts last year was stunning

No as tai has to worry about holder first then he has others chasing him, after emil's crash he wasn't as hungry for the world title so I don't see why tai would worry about him. Dont think Tai sees Holder as a realistic threat to his title. That will come no doubt from Hancock and maybe a couple of others. Holder will be around 6th or 7th

Steve Shovlar
The British Final is a farce simply because Woffinden couldnt be arsed to ride. Too tired poor little mite. It makes a mockery of the event and reduces the crowd considerably. But Woofinden doesnt care. He doesnt care for British speedway full stop. It doesnt matter that British speedway gave him the opportunity to learn his trade. He has already stuck his middle finger up at league racing. Hell to all the fans from Wolverhampton that cheered him on. Now he has wrecked the British Final but not being bothered to ride. Yet all the apologists are out in force posting his schedule, which looks the same as the majority of the sports top riders. And lighter than nki, Jonsson, Holder and Zagar. Personally the crowd for the swc wont be affected as most of the tickets have now sold anyway. I would drop him from TeamGB. We owe him nothing. Let him take a holiday to give him the opportunity to get over his tiredness. He has disrespected British Speedway and for the life of me I struggle to understand why some people are still supporting him. The most unpopular British World Champion ever? We are not going to win anyway so give the spot to a youngster.
