ColinMills
Colin, what year did you do the Ole Nygren training school? I've done one, also did mechanics race at Long Eaton, and amateur meeting at Stoke, as well as training at Scunny and Leicester..... it was way back when bo brhel was racing. I remember that as he flew past me on the back straight and he got called off the track whilst a novice (me) was on it!!

sommelier
Pretty sure it was established he is Robert homer (the 1972 version). Record viewable on the proboards siteI can remember watching a Rob Homer in second half's at Cradley Heath very late 60s early 70s! Lily savage won't give up the rode once bit. Times have changed over the last 12 years, demands are greater from riders, some riders even when there was a strict pay scale were getting more, you have image rights, appearance money, also start money and that is not the same for every rider. The demands from riders even at premier and national league are amazing. I heard that a 16 year old kid wanted 2k just to sign a contract recently that's without also wanting a hire/sponsored van. The promoter didn't sign him. Tai is a British world champion and the British final needed him more than he needed the British final so he could demand his own contract to race in it. However tai didn't want to ride in it. If you are Rob Homer, you were/am a very good engineer. Did you not have a lot to do with the BSA Bantam engine for the indoor meetings ? There were two rob homers, hence why I needed to specify the year of birth. The one you saw each was born in 47 I think.
Gemini
There were two rob homers, hence why I needed to specify the year of birth. The one you saw each was born in 47 I think. That's not the correct one then as Robert72 is not that old - in fact the 72 might give you a clue to his age, which is in his 40's, so 44 this year. waiheke1
Agreed. The rob homer who posts on here was born in 1972. The one the other poster saw was born in 1947ish.

JC!
Whilst I am not in agreement with Robert72, I think it's pretty poor for others to be putting up his name and DOB on a public forum if they don't have permission.
