ColinMills
yep, i just cant back woffy on this one. true the brit final is individual, but its also a british showcase, with live tv. it be-littles the national title. travel is part and parcel of any speedway rider, im sure woffy wouldnt have any hassle on booking tickets, getting lift sorted, it would all be laid on for him. putting himself out just ONCE isnt too much to ask imo

waiheke1
I can't believe we are back on the tail missing British final again. If it has been announced he would be seeded direct I could sympathise. But with the scheduling of the semis as they were, it made zero sense for him to ride in them. Surely it is better to have him focus on becoming a British world champ, than have him riding in a domestic semi final in front of a couple of thousand fans?

What's the point of having a World Champion in any sport, if they don't ever appear in their home Country? The only chance anyone will get to see him is Cardiff!! and that's only gonna be true speedway fans, and the odd complimentary/freebie/corporate spectator.. That's why it's wrong. He may as well be included in the Polish or Swedish national championship, do A Rune Holta!!!

What about SWC at Belle Vue at the end of July? and if the contractors had laid the BV track correct first time he would have been visible in the UK at the end of March. He may as well be included in the Polish or Swedish national championship, do A Rune Holta!!! Yeah, you are right! What's the point in any sport! Can't believe I didn't think of that. Off to find a Formula One thread to troll about Lewis Hamilton only racing in GP's in England. While I'm at it I think I'll dig up some past history and troll about Carl Fogarty. What a disgrace he was when World Superbike Champion barely racing in the UK. As for Woffinden just racing at Cardiff (although of course he isn't just racing there).. again you're right! What a worthless event, only true speedway fans and a few companies go to Cardiff whereas at league speedway stadiums are packed with non speedway fans and companies galore!
Vince
If it is so important that a British World Champion rides in the British Final then he should have been seeded direct and even if not the semi's should have been scheduled with an eye on the GP's. Nobody ever became World Champion without being single minded and dedicated to that aim above all others but now he's supposed to put that aside to compete in a meeting to keep those fans who accuse him of not being British happy.
ColinMills
of course he should of been seeded. had he came 9th, would of got the wildcard in any case, so crazy decision. i DO get the frustration of him not being at the showcase of british speedway. Shale Searcher
There's only one GP race in the UK and Tai will be there. You all know what I mean, if Lewis Hamilton wanted to compete more in the UK, he would have to compete in another form of motorsport, like Touring cars, or Ginetta, or Truck racing, or F2 or F3 Tai wouldn't have to..... Shale Searcher
You expect Tai to do Moto X, trials riding, British superbikes or something. Your way off course. NO, NO, My point was, that using Lewis Hamilton, as a comparator to Tai, was not possible. There's only one F1 race in the UK per year, so if Lewis wanted to perform in the UK more often, he would have to take up another motorsport discipline.. Tai wouldn't have to or need to, just ride EL, do British Final, etc... Hamilton doesn't have that choice available..
