Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

Recommended Posts

bit more than just chucked a few quid at him, do ridets often go to the funerals of people who once gave them a bit of money? I suggest regarding my family you keep it quiet! And no I never raced him and what that has to do with the fact about Tai not racing I have no idea!!! Your in your own sad little world

You were quick to criticize me racing but you have never done it so how can you gob off, also to answer your question yes I went to the funeral of one of my old sponsors it's called respect.

What other riders did you lean over the hackney wall and become family friends with ? Just wondered if I also raced against them too.

You sound like a speedway groupie hanging over pit walls at tracks with a love of lily savage and you call me sad, my sides are really hurting now with laughter.

So where were we oh yes tai couldn't care less about British fans and is Not riding in the British final

Agree Colin I also bought a bike back in my youth and despite riding bikes for a fair chunk of my life il never forget the power in that bike. Total respect for anyone having a go. I watch the kids in the nl and can't believe how they manage it and as for the top boys I have utter respect and jealousy for them

you don't also appreciate it when you stand on a terrace at foxhall or brandon, yet when you are at kings lynn or Eastbourne and right near the fence, they seem that much quicker...sorry folks off thread again!

There is no better feeling than riding a speedway bike and winning a race at any level, it's the pain when you come off that is not good.

Yes there are some good kids coming through now.

It's when you stand in the middle you see the real speed and it's scary

I always find the whole if you haven’t attempted it you can’t comment on it thing a bit precious…surely the one person that holds even less validity than someone who has “never attempted it” is someone who has attempted and was utterly terrible at it...why would anyone give that person any validity...

which is exactly my point! back in the 90's and at the start of the decade ALL riders in the British Final got paid the same absolute FACT.

Robert72 tells us otherwise and all we ask is that he can prove this which he cant at all.

Oh wait yes he can...............his proof is that he used to ride!!

My Point is the 90's were a long while ago.. so it MAY have changed.. I doubt it but it may have changed.. but again I don't think this is the reason why Tai has decided not to ride in the Final..

I have the upmost respect for anyone who has straddled a bike and ridden it in anger with other riders.. and I think they all deserve some respect but this has gone on a bit long.. I would love to know Robert72's real name so we can all find out his history.. and congratulate him on actually competing !!!!

What's your real name as I would love to know plus what you have achieved in life so I can congratulate you, maybe you should put your real name up now instead of Dazzafl

Whatever the reason it's not right that tai is not riding in the British final.

mate i agree 100% it may have changed. It hadnt in 2004 but it may have.

My point is that if Robert72 feels the pay is different then he needs to provide his evidence...........and not the fact he swung his leg over a bike once!

OK so we have established that Robert 72 has ridden a speedway bike competitively and that Gavans family know Mark Loram quite well. So please can we put a stop to all this. Neither of the above facts give either of you the right to be correct in your opinions...and that's all they are OPINIONS, exactly the same as everyone else's posts on this thread.

Neither of you have provided any evidence of what may or may not have been paid to any rider in the 2016 British Final.

Can we please behave like adults and have some respect for each other's opinions, regardless of whether you agree with them or not.

Pretty sure it was established he is Robert homer (the 1972 version). Record viewable on the proboards site

Colin, what year did you do the Ole Nygren training school?

I've done one, also did mechanics race at Long Eaton, and amateur meeting at Stoke, as well as training at Scunny and Leicester.....

No i have given facts not opinions. Up until at least 2004 ALL riders were paid the same to appear in a British Final wether they scored 3 or 13.

Robert72 is adamant that now they get paid differently.

All me and Bwitcher have asked is for him to provide evidence. For all i know he may be right.

But to say his evidence is because he rode once is rubbish

Lily savage won't give up the rode once bit.

Times have changed over the last 12 years, demands are greater from riders, some riders even when there was a strict pay scale were getting more, you have image rights, appearance money, also start money and that is not the same for every rider.

The demands from riders even at premier and national league are amazing. I heard that a 16 year old kid wanted 2k just to sign a contract recently that's without also wanting a hire/sponsored van. The promoter didn't sign him.

Tai is a British world champion and the British final needed him more than he needed the British final so he could demand his own contract to race in it. However tai didn't want to ride in it.

My Name is Darren Fletcher.. I used to be the pit marshall and one of the family who started Plymouth Speedway back up in 2006..

no need for congratulations the guy who owned it was an arse who I defended when he indefensible..

I wont hide behind a username.. if you rode let us know who is behind the name so we all know who we are speaking to..

all this anonymous stuff makes me feel these guys are all right..

is this correct.. if so I will check the record but it doesn't matter as said before I doff my cap to anyone who has ridden a bike competitively..

Robert72 is the one who has made the claims about the British Final, not given as an opinion, he gave them as fact.

He was asked for evidence of that, his response was basically he had won some speedway races in the past.. i.e. he has none.

Robert72 made the claims not me.

I said what it was like 10-15 years ago

He was asked for evidence and so far cant provide any apart from the fact he rode a bike!!
