Lakeside V Wolves (24/4)

Recommended Posts

Wolves made light work of Lakeside at Monmore Green despite a slow start and the Hammers could only get one heat winner after the first two heats and this could be a complete swing around here.

Lakeside have a team that is built to win at home and there are questions to be answered by Wolves about the scoring of certain riders away from WV2

Like to see Wolves push them all the way and at least get a point ....... but it may need a TR at one point

51-42 my guess

Auspicious evening for Peter Karlsson, who breaks Sam Ermolenko's Wolves all-time appearance record of 542 outings in the black and gold tonight. I guess a home match would have been more appropriate -- it would have worked out as Belle Vue at Monmore but for rain-offs -- but Lakeside is a good spot in its way, given PK's recent time there. Anyway, congratulations and all hail to one of the club (and sport's) great figures. I have reason to believe (ahem!) that there is a two-page, 2,500-word interview with the man himself in tomorrow's Express & Star newspaper...

It will be good to see PK back at Purfleet tonight I think he will score well. James Wright guests for Steve Boxall again. Doyle for AJ and Schelin for Rich Lawson.

Steve Boxall is not in your team, Ash Birks is. So where is Ash Birks?

Seriously, once can be an over sight, but to allow Lakeside a guest for a rider who is free to ride is a joke of epic proportions.

Isn't that just what speedway in UK is?

Yes. Because of crap like this.

Last year when Coventry could not get a single draft rider to ride they were going to use a NL reserve (at the time), the BSPA wouldn't allow it and they had to have a blank in 3 races. This should be the same, no facility which means no rider.

If Pedersen had gone through with it he'd have been hanging off the East Park bandstand.

When the owd mon decides the time has come the sport will be poorer for it.

So Lakeside are tracking an illegal team 2 meetings in a row?

Seems they're learning from Mr Ford.. perhaps reaping the benefit of allowing Poole to cheat a few times now.

Meanwhile Wolves just stand by and accept it....

And I've always been told that Adams knows the rule book inside out.

Don't forget that its rumoured that Jon Cook is lined up to replace Alex Harkess as BSPA Chairman at this year's AGM, so the MC is likely to agree to any of his requests - for the benefit of speedway!!

4.30pm WEATHER UPDATE

Can't see me having to do any further weather updates ahead of tonight's clash with Wolverhampton as it's, fine, bright and sunny right now as it's been all day.

So no problems expected, junior heats 7.30, main event starting at 8pm.

See you later!
