The Mighty Bees Vs Belle Vue 24/04/15

Recommended Posts

Cook missed several Belle Vue away meetings last year - given his results away from home that's not necessarily a bad thing!

Agree. The 2 guests Belle Vue have are stronger.

Zengota struggled away from home when he rode for the bees but was always brilliant at Brandon.

It's a bit of a risk having 2 swindon riders guesting when they already have riders out injured.

Andersen and Harris have to come through the 'Blunsdon heat leader injury curse' tonight first!!

Yep, total farce. Andersen also rides for Lakeside at Leicester and then, according to a tweet he made, misses the Bees match there on the 9th May!

Can anyone see any of the remaining wood on the coffin so we can get another nail in?

Brilliant. And you should see the choice of guests! Zagar (hates Leicester, doesn't do guest bookings), North (is not riding for Australia), Bjerre and Morris.

I'll ask once again, why are these meeting arranged when riders are missing?!

Oh well we can't win every away meeting.

Will Coventry be granted a facility for Andersen? (I find the rules very confusing when it comes to guesting)

They will. but a facility is no good if all the options for guests are either injured, riding in the same meeting or riding in the Best Pairs. Basically Nick Morris is the highest average rider available to replace Hans

Oh no. That's not good then. How about Rory 😜

Or Magic/Nicholls.

Rory, ride for the Bees? Not likely. Plus he's like to have either guested the week before or already be guesting for Leicester in place of Walasek. Nicholls and Magic are both likely to be a tiny bit too high if my figures are corect (8.25 and 8.18 vs 8.17 for Hans).

Annoyingly, with bonus points, theres only 2 riders ahead of Hans. Puk and Bomber!

FRIDAY PREVIEW - BEES v BELLE VUE

Thursday April 23, 2015

TABLE-TOPPING Coventry bid to extend their advantage when they face Belle Vue in the Elite League at Brandon on Friday (7.30pm).

The Buildbase Bees are set for a big welcome back from their home supporters after their emphatic win in Manchester on Monday, which followed on from a similarly impressive triumph at Poole last week.

And another three points in the return fixture against the Aces will put Coventry in an extremely strong position at the start of a busy fortnight of racing.

But boss Gary Havelock is guarding against complacency as the Bees take on a Belle Vue team who may well provide a stronger threat at Brandon than on their own circuit.

Bees have proved over recent visits that Kirkmanshulme Lane is one of their favourite away tracks, but the Aces have re-loaded with Coventry track specialists for Friday, who will certainly pose a challenge.

The visitors bring in former Bees duo Grzegorz Zengota and Kyle Howarth to replace the injured Simon Stead and the unavailable Craig Cook.

Zengota was Coventry’s Rider of the Year in the difficult 2013 campaign, whilst Howarth rode for the club last season and made a successful return by winning the British Under-21 Final at Brandon last week.

Add in the top two of skipper Scott Nicholls, who led the Bees to the Treble in 2007, and Matej Zagar who on his night is one of the best visitors to Brandon, and a close contest could well be in prospect.

Havelock said: “I feel Belle Vue have been very smart with their choice of guests for this meeting, and if there’s one thing we must avoid on Friday it’s complacency.

“After such a great performance on Monday we certainly don’t want to slip up at home.

“I do feel we can go anywhere in the league and put on a performance, but we’ve already lost one at home this year so we’ve got to be on the ball and try to make sure we don’t lose any more.

“If we can go for the rest of the season at home just about unbeaten from here, the away wins we’ve already got are going to stand us in really good stead.”

Bees name a full-strength team as they go into a run of five matches in ten days, including trips to Wolverhampton, King’s Lynn and Lakeside next week.

BUILDBASE BEES (from): Hans Andersen, Jason Garrity, Chris Harris, Danny King, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Stuart Robson, James Sarjeant.
BELLE VUE (from): Max Fricke, Kyle Howarth, Scott Nicholls, Stefan Nielsen, Steve Worrall, Matej Zagar, Grzegorz Zengota.

It's going to be like Coventry V Coventry select as Belle Vue have 5 ex coventry riders (Scott, Stefan,Howarth,Zengi & could count Max)

Worrall and Zagar always go well at Brandon.

I think this will be Belle Vue's best chance of getting a win at Brandon.

Why ? Bees are full strength and Howarth/Zengota for Cook/Stead is more or less like for like !!
