Coventry Storm V Cradley / Birmingham --sun 19th April At 4pm

COVENTRY stage the first of several Sunday afternoon fixtures this weekend with the Storm taking centre-stage for their 2015 home opener (4pm).
Laurence Rogers’ side will be taking on a Birmingham/Cradley Select side in a Challenge match which should produce plenty of competitive action between two well-matched line-ups.
This date was to have been used for a league match against Cradley but that meeting will now take place later in the season – giving the City Gearboxes Storm the opportunity for track time ahead of a busy schedule of away matches to come.
Having already ridden well to gain a point from their first league match at Cradley last week, they visit Buxton next Sunday (April 26) and also have trips to Mildenhall and Kent in early May.
The full Storm team will be on show with Dan Greenwood in particular having made a blistering start to the campaign with high scores in all of his meetings, both for Coventry and in a series of guest appearances elsewhere.
The visitors include six riders from the Birmingham and Cradley line-ups plus Buxton’s Adam Extance, and amongst their septet they track the Brummies’ talented reserve youngster Zach Wajtknecht, who scored paid-15 in a home win over Rye House on Wednesday.
In addition to the 15-heat match, there is also a Midland Development League challenge plus 125cc demo races – and for the third season running, admission to National League level meetings at Brandon is just £10 for all adults, with all under-16s going free.
Rogers said: “We can only take positives from our opening encounter at Cradley where we picked up a valuable league point.
“I wanted to start the new home season with a challenge rather than go straight into a league clash, especially with four new riders in our side, and also Cradley would have been missing several riders on Premier League duty. So this was seen as a sensible solution all round.”

No Adam Ellis, Tom Perry, Ellis Perks, or Max Clegg. Coventry after an easy ride then are they?

Does Adam Existance speak with a yam yam accent by any chance?

I think this fixture is a mistake. I won't be going as it's not a Brummies team. I suspect that other Brummies fans may take the same view. Cradley fans may look at it and think "this ay the Eevuns" and instead of getting two lots of travelling support (undoubtedly the intention) there may be none instead,

I'll be honest, I think combining Cradley and Birmingham is a little insulting. They may share a home track but they're two separate clubs and should be kept that way. I'm amazed Cradley and Birmingham have agreed to this mish-mash happening. Coventry could have ridden against a "NL select".

Why so negative. As Laurence said its a chance to get a Storm out on track and for the opposition to get valuable track time at Brandon which is a track apart from Nathan, none have ridden much. I'm sure the names you mention above have said they may ride if the money is right but it's obviously not and those names don't need the practise.

If its a combined Birmingham/Cradley team, how come theres four Heathens compared to 2 Brummies.

Thought I heard on Wednesday Tom Perry was riding in this

If that was the case I guess Extance replaces him, as with Perry in the side it would be close to the 36 pt average limit and includes only Birmingham/Cradley riders.

Great to see Luke getting plenty of points on the board.

I think this fixture was put in as the date was originally pencilled in for Cov vs Cradley, however with Clegg and Perks on PL duty Cradley declined the fixture (along with a few others that were originally planned in a similar fashion). I guess as mentioned it's worth track time for the riders that were available

Thanks. He should have a good career in Speedway if he stays level headed.
