stratton
The way the Brits performed in this weekend's Grand Prix qualifiers only strengthens Lambert's case....Britain, outside of Woffinden and Harris are an embarrassment on the world stage and most of these failures have had their chance....to ignore Lambert would be plain ridiculous...Lambert has to be in,he has rode well this year and we need to build our future around Tai and Robert. The performances of Cook/King in the qualifiers really surprised me others like Garrity/ Auty,( ect) would of done as least as well in those meetings if not better. phillipsr
Not sure they would of done any better unfortunately. Robert aside we just dont have anyone who is close to reaching the top level of Speedway

The USA have taken the the longterm view with Manzares, and this is with Wells riding as well as he has ever done in his career.
waiheke1
Tbh inclusion of both tai and Lambert is for both now and the future. To join them, both Harris and Nichols are miles ahead of anyone else - they are prob not "the future", but both could ride 5+ more years. Those 4 are a no brained if available. If Scott won't ride, there's not much between the others. Lawson is prob the inform rider so would likely go with him - he's not young, but is improving and again could ride 5-10 more seasons. Think its a couple of seasons too early for garritty, howarth etc. Tai Lambert and Harris likely to fill 3 spots on merit until bomber retires

Id have Howarth alongside Tai, Harris and Robert. 3 of that team are 24 and under

SCB
Wouldn't use Hoawarth yet. Too prone to having terrible meetings. And can't get around Kings Lynn.

SCB
Id put him ahead of Auty,Garrity, Newman etc though Around Lynn I'd use Garrity and Newman ahead of him! He's truly terrible there! Frankly, I'm amazed Auty even gets mentioned on these threads, he's the new Leigh Lanham, people seem to think they're young and/or better than they are! Bruiser McHuge
I agree it's a sad state of affairs discussing some of the names likely to be picked for Great Britain.......my first international match I saw live was a World Team Cup qualifier at Belle Vue and the 4 man team was Peter Collins, Michael Lee, Dave Jessup and Malcolm Simmons.......even Chris Morton couldn't get in on his home track !.....now that's a team and its sad we are talking about fast track reserves and average second strings making the team these days.........that's another reason Lambert has to be included...yes he is far from the finished article and has plenty to learn but he's the best prospect we have, deserves his spot on merit and can only benefit from the experience. I don't agree the GP has solely decimated our league..it hasn't helped but if our league was strong and attractive it could have coped....the growth of the foreign leagues have decimated the league far more...the Polish League only opened up to foreigners in the early 90's and has grown and grown...the options to ride in the other leagues have grown as well.....back in the 70's and 80's these options weren't open to top riders, it was mainly Sunday individual meetings on the continent for the lucky few...there are so many more options open now for top riders and Britain is way down the list.....that would have happened regardless of the Grand Prix 's

A ORLOV
Rosco was having a long chat with Scott Nicholls at Swindon last night, I wonder if it was about riding for GB again.
SteveLyric2
Rosco was having a long chat with Scott Nicholls at Swindon last night, I wonder if it was about riding for GB again. He would still take a lot of persuading according to his article in this week's Speedway Star - aside from the fact he has a contract with Eurosport to commentate!!!
