customhouseregular
We'd have a chance with that lot! WOT!...No Jessup, Hunter or Wilson?.
stratton
Newman and Auty over King?? Dont get that one at all.King has had endless chances not good anough, not saying Newman/Auty are good anough either but surely you dont go and do the same old same old?And Mr Bennett Auty i like as a rider on his day can be good Sidney has got a thing about Auty.A decent rider great value ask the Scunny fans? not me have you loads of options to give me you might come up with six? .You odviously do not rate Auty that is fine you are entitled to your opinion. Bagpuss
Auty will never be as good as Stead or King, still can't gate after nine years and would be a poor choice. Newman possibly worth persevering with even though he had been around for a fair while too. The squad Gavan named in the OP is more or less on the money though. oldace
Up to individuals whether they pay up or not. I value loyalty and this year Woffy hasn't shown any to British speedway so I see no reason to show any to him. GB are not going to win in 2015 so build for the future IMHO. Other opinions are available, terms and conditions apply You have to separate loyalty to the Elite League from loyalty to team gb. The domestic leagues are merely a job, whereas representing your country is entirlely different Edited April 16, 2015 by Oldace

You are talking about one track and referring to one particular meeting. Far more telling are the averages of King, Stead & Auty in both leagues over the past few years. I agree with you with regards to the five you have named. King and Stead failed badly last year in the final so for me Lambert & Cook should get their chance this time. The five pick themselves, but Cook has not been great in the the EL up until now,and last year it was a mediocre year for him also in the EL. Daniel Smith
One things for certain, no EL fast track rider should be anywhere near the squad. There's a reason they're in those positions I.e. they're nowhere near ready. For me the main picks would be: Woffinden Harris Lambert Howarth Squad fill in's: Stead Cook Lawson

Based on what? Averaging 5.5 in the PL. That puts him behind a few of them fast track riders you don't want.
stevehone
FWIW I think he'll be back riding for Wolves in the next two or three seasons I wouldn't be surprised if he's in Norfolk
waiheke1
Tai nicholls and Harris are clearly some way ahead of the rest. For kl round would includr Lambert. Beyond that, Lawson is the in form rider so would use him, or if Nichols unavailable.
Red Panda
After throwing his toys out of the pram for not being included in the main squad at King's Lynn last year Cook should not even be considered............... Any 4/5 from this lot Woffy King Harris Stead Lawson Howarth Newman Lambert RP
SPEEDY69
At present, given all are available I'd pick: Woffinden Nicholls Lambert Harris Howarth
Buttons
Tai Woffinden doesn't owe British Speedway anything as far as I'm concerned, if he feels its best to cut down on his riding and travelling then I don't blame him for cutting the UK out of his schedule at all. He has to be the first name on the team sheet for me as our one truly world class rider. The only way Tai could get a place in the Gp's was to ride for the UK with Holder & Ward already in it, so it's not all one sided, British Speedway helped him fulfil his dream of becoming World Champion, don't forget that. Bagpuss
Your'e assuming he would have been an Aussie had that path been clear for him then? Quite possible he wanted to be a Brit all along.

sommelier
Personally wouldn't have Woffy. He didn't want British speedway this season, we ain't gonna win so use Harris & King for experience and put Robert Lambert, Kyle Howarth and Kyle Newman. If we need to have a squad fill it with youngsters not been there not done its. We are not talking about British Speedway! How you can leave a rider like Woffy out is a bewildering comment!! mdmc82
I'm not a big fan of Tai but when it comes to the world cup he would be the first rider I would pick. It's a shame Nicholls has retired from the world cup as in great form at the moment. At king's Lynn I would have: Woffy (currently top GB rider) Harris (scored strongly there in 2014/2013 cup) Lambert (Flying around Lynn so far) It's the last place I struggle with. Last year both Stead and King did well at King's Lynn. King has started the season very strongly. Stead rides really well round Lynn and can gate so would depend on form nearer the time. I'm undecided on Lawson as sometimes he's brilliant but then the next meeting average. I wouldn't use Howarth as Kings Lynn is one of his worst tracks and it's different beating people as 2nd string and in a world cup. Cook has struggled in recent weeks as a second string for Belle Vue and was very poor last year. Newman is a way off being ready to race in the World Cup IMO. He's one of the lowest ranked riders on the draft (even though better than his ranking) not unbeatable in PL & EL and that's against 2nd strings. Definetely no Barker or Bridger!
