Edinburgh V Berwick (lc) 17/4/15 @7.30pm

Definitely not feeling the love for my beloved team this season, seems the west coast faithful and the usual suspects have got the knives out, I think we can handle it though, after all we are so smug that criticism doesn't bother us.

think I might have to get my smug avatar looked out again.

17 quid to get in + another golden nugget to sit in the grandstand. scandalous. Another terrible viewing platform at the "Begging Bowl Arena"!!!

nobody uses it anyway as there are other places to sit that you don't have to pay for.

Anyway onto the meeting wonderful day weather wise in Costa del Armadale so track should be perfect condition for when we give the bandits their usual hammering round the dale.

Makes me laugh when Glesgae people like yourself come on here all superior and go on about the 'plight' of the Monarchs and sniping at our club Nagy1.. not so long ago you were asked to put your hands in your pockets to keep running yourselves..in fact more than once i recall :nono: Just because you have a couple of sugar daddys now and posher pish troughs to pee in, it's a different story..well let's see how long they'll keep pumping the money in for if the demanded for League title isnt forthcoming and the hoped for crowds dont materialize?Obviously i wouldn't ever want Glasgow to fold but..Biggest Peugeot showroom in the West anyone? :P Personally,i think our club despite our problems have worked miracles on a budget to select the great League winning teams that they have without much finance so here's hoping one of the oldest Derby fixtures in speedway has many years to run yet :approve: Ahem..Anyways..back to the original thread loll..i think this will be a better match than it was going to be before the unfortunate injury to the Slovenian lad..Michael Palm Toft always gives 100% wherever he races,so it should be interesting..unless Berwick can tempt Dicko and James Grieves out of retirement i can see that losing streak at the Dale continuing..for now.Hope it's a good and safe one for all.. :drink:

I am very glad to be of some amusement to someone. If you recall Glasgow's plight of the last few years the board members were asked to contribute, as they did and that is why we have a club today. When the (now old)promotion came in two years ago they stated that they did not want the begging bowl to be passed around!! The current situation is great for all involved though I have witnessed both envy and admiration from my friends through there in the East. Your success has come at a cost to the fans and to the owner of Workington speedway(that is how far you begging bowl got round to). The promotion just seem to threaten to shut the club down, let the fans pay to run it then take the plaudits. The extra pound to sit in the stand is desperate though.

Can't see Berwick hitting more than 35 tonight :)

Oh you are indeed amusing on a regular basis Nagy1 lol.. ;) Personally i think Monarchs do very well for a team that races 20 odd miles away from it's spiritual home in a small town..big kudos to our promotion and our wonderful fans wherever they come from :approve: Let's wait & see if Tigers become the 'Man City' of the Speedway Premier league..or will the 'poor relations' from the East prevail and they fall flat on their holes? Nobodies asking you to sit in tghe bloody grandstand by the way..jeez you would think a pound was beyond you 'nouveau riche' or something lol.. For the record other stadiums within speedway like Kings Lynn do this..get over it!! :P
