Wolves V Lakeside Mon 20th April

Recommended Posts

Good entertaining meeting, plenty of overtaking and a good Wolves win.

Next week will be the big test of this team. If they can beat Coventry, who are on fire, then they can contend for the play-offs.

Also be interesting to see how close they can get at Lakeside on Friday.

How the hell is Blackbird at the age of 28 a draft rider ?

Your not being serious questioning why Blackbird is in the draft! Really?

James Wright was riding tonight as a draft rider that's right JAMES WRIGHT who has been riding for over 10 years retired came back and doesn't even have a team place yet in the draft.

One or two decent races, but still hard to escape the feeling that its still not the Monmore Green of old. Can say the same thing for Freddie. In 2009 he dropped 7 points at home all season - he's dropped more than that in the last 2 home matches to - with all due respect - inferior opposition.

Its still the Monmore Green of old unfortunately the bikes are now different which is why we now see inferior speedway !

I enjoyed this meeting tonight. Both teams put on a good show and track produced lots of passing

I agree, certainly the best Sky meeting so far, shame Lakeside slipped away after a good start, it doesn't bode well for them now if they struggled at Wolves.

Kennett was awful, what has happened to the bloke.

Kennett hasn't been the same rider since the silencer problem. Think he has potential as he shows sometimes at home for Lakeside but really struggles under pressure as often seen in British final or heat 15. Used to spend too much time looking behind him when racing with Coventry and would then get passed.

I've never known a rider spend so much time looking behind, or over his shoulder. Quite sad to see how much he has regressed in the past couple of years.

Much better sky meeting last night, some entertaining heats and a close meeting till the last few. Seemed to be once the track settled down and riders got to grips with it we saw better action, which leads me onto another point...

How come riders cannot practice before the meeting on the track? I know it could obviously cause the dirt to move out wider earlier etc, but it was evident last night that once the riders had a heat or 2 to get used to it and the track to settle down we saw better racing? Sure each rider getting a practice 4 laps wouldnt make too much difference?

All four matches at Lakeside this year: 10+1(4), 11+1(5), 10(4) 11+1(4).

I think 'plenty' is taking it a bit far, for the first half a dozen races there was not a single pass (other than when a rider locked up).

Another watching a different meeting then, or just completely making things up.

There was passing in Heat 1, Lakeside riders both made the gate, Wells forced his way into 2nd. Or maybe Jason Doyle was making it up in his interview about being passed.

Heat 2 Blackbird passed Wright.

Heat 3 saw Musielak go from 1st to last and back to 3rd again.

Heat 4 Adam Ellis led and PK passed him around the outside.

As said, don't make up things.

Well owning to the fact Vatcher told us at Lynn on Sky that he was signed due to his away form he must be averaging about 11 this year then?! :D

I'm not what you would call a fan of our so called Elite League racing but that was an entertaining meeting.Young pole Tobiasz Musielak was very impressive in what was only his 3rd EL meeting i believe?Definitely a rider to look out for..mentions must also go to Ricky Wells and Lewis Blackbird who were excellent.I thought the meeting came over really well.. :t: Now after my all too rare praising of EL speedway i'm away back to the Premier League section lol.. :P

When PK finally chucks the towel in at least we have a new Black Country Swede in training. 'Thanks Jacob' 'Thanks mate'. :D

Thing is Wolfsbane, the promotion and a lot of the fans wanted to see Thorssell as the first name on the team sheet.

He had a good season last year, but im still not convinced like Adams, that he is going to be the next "Super Swede".

Hes still young,so time will tell.
