Wolves V Lakeside Mon 20th April

Recommended Posts

Jason Doyle is a GP star! :P

He is not returning though like AJ was after a long time away.

Seems a bit strange that AJ and Doyle will ride in the same GP on Saturday and both will possibly ride on Sunday in Poland on the Sunday but only one will be fit to ride on the Monday in Britain ?

Lawson and Bech have never really done too much at Monmore Green with Lawson 7+1 twice as a second string last season and Bech 7+1 and 5 with his best score as a heat leader but from five rides.and both rode in the meeting when Bomber guested for Tai and only scored 2 points.

Last season Lakeside lost 48-42 at Monmore in the first meeting with PK, Davey Watt and Steve Worrall as their top three scorers while in the second meeting when Harris guested they won 46-44 with Davey Watt top scoring and Adam Ellis getting 9 at reserve against Jacobs and Perry but with Lewis Blackbird and Josh Bates it wont be as easy this time.

Wolves to be comfortable winners here I think and a 54-39 scoreline with Doyle top scorer for Hammers and a solid showing from all the Wolves team with Wells and Thorssell again doing well at WV2

Is there a good reason for AJ's absence or is there some pee taking going on?

This will always happen while GP riders are a law to themselves ,wouldn't mind in most cases they hardly pull any trees up when they do ride in the league because they fear injury and/or they have their best kit fo the GP's

He has injured his knee. No idea how bad it is so we are not in a position to judge his fitness. One can understand a rider riding in a GP when carrying an injury, especially the first of the season when even two or three points could potentially be crucial to final placings at the end of the year. It's difficult to say whether he should or shouldn't be riding on Monday but everything we know about AJ suggests that he is not a micky taker, unlike your average Pole (Swiderski and Skornivki excepted). The thing about riding in Polznd is that he doesn't have to make a decision until tha last minute, as they have enough in the squad to put someone else in, plus he has a base in Poland and won't have to catch a flight home at some unearthly hour. In GB though, you can't really fly in in some Ryanair cattle truck with a dodgy knee then decide at the last minute you can't ride then expect a suitable guest to be dredged up at a moments notice.

I don't think Doyley has ever guested for Lakeside so it with be interesting to see how he goes.

To me your either injury or your not ...the bit I don't understand is why Lakeside did not wait intill Monday morning ? Just say Aj injured and Doyle going to replace him , then no one bats a eyelid rather than doing it this way and people pointing fingers .

I have no qualms about him riding in the GP tbh, but if he rides in Poland then he is taking the p*** and no facility should be granted.

Squads etc are irrelevant.

As for 'Ryanair cattle truck', neglible difference between Ryanair planes and any other.. except of course a hell of a lot cheaper and on time far more often. If he wants extra leg room, pay £5 and he has it... so no excuse their either.

Fair enough taking his place in the GP if he is injured. The acid test will be if he then rides in Poland on Sunday and "aggravates" the injury and cant take his place at Wolves. Under no circumstances should a facility be allowed in that scenario

If Lakeside are denied a facility the people you are hurting most are the Wolves fans who won't want to pay £18 to see a PL six pointer riding at No1 and the Wolves promotion who would lose gate money because GP riders will always put more on the gate than a PL 6pointer. To a lesser extent the Lakeside promotion would be affected because any chance of a point would be greatly reduced, and the one person unaffected by lack of facility would be the rider himself.

If riders don't appear without good reason then they should be the ones to pay the price, not the fans or the promotions, especially the opposing promotions..

I guess the post-dated medical certificate is already in JC's hands?! :D:wink:

Not yet . He's going to get one of Matt Fords spares and tippex THJ's name out

Come on now E I... you're digging a bit here aren't you?

What next? Oh, we haven't got a very good team this year, its not fair on the track we're visiting, so we'll just track a couple of stronger riders instead.

If there is no genuine injury, who should pay the price? The rider or the Wolves fans ? If a 6-pointer were put in the forum would be full of complaints. I

No it wouldn't as for once rules would have followed and the sport shows some credibility.

If he rides on Sunday in Poland and doesn't wish to ride on Monday, then he is withholding his services and should be suspended accordingly.

Lakeside can then use Doyle as a guest and nobody is upset, as you seem worried about.

What SHOULDN'T be allowed to happen is him skip Monday and then simply walk back in on Friday.

So, your fears are unjustified if the rules are followed.
