Kings Lynn Young Stars V Mildenhall Fen Tigers 15th April

Norfolk has woken up to a fabulous morning weather wise, and is forecast to remain the same all day and evening.

Although the 'Young Stars' built up a healthy 14-point lead in the 1st Round KO Cup tie in Suffolk on Sunday, automatic qualification can't be taken for granted. The 'Fen Tigers' are a wounded animal, and that makes them a threat, so the support of both clubs fans is of paramount importance, as we strive to urge our respective riders onto overall glory.

King's Lynn are expected to line-up as they did at West Row, which is 1) James Cockle 2) Josh Bailey 3) Scott Campos 4) Shane Hazelden 5) Tom Stokes 6) Adam Portwood 7) Ryan Kinsley. Due to the sudden retirement of Liam Rumsey, the visitors are forced into making a change, and will be represented as thus: 1) Daniel Halsey 2) R/R 3) Connor Mountain 4) Nick Laurence 5) Connor Coles 6) Tom Bacon 7) Luke Ruddick.

So as you can see by the line-ups, there are four riders who contested last nights British Under 21 Championship at Coventry, so there is quality in abundance to enjoy.

This fixture is followed by the 2nd leg of the MDL Vase Final where the King's Lynn 'Lightning' hold a slender 4-point lead from the 1st leg. Line ups for this are expected to be: King's Lynn 1) Ryan Kinsley 2) Lewis Griggs 3) Adam Portwood 4) Jack Thomas. Milton Keynes 1) Tom Bacon 2) Stephen Whitehouse 3) Rob Watts 4) Sam Darroch.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm, gates open at 6.30pm.

Sadly Mildenhall now look perilously fragile following the departure of Jack Kingston & Liam Rumsey.

Jack was a bargain on his average.

Liam has joined the ranks of those who will withdraw / retire during the season and sadly won't be the last. Although given his previous experience he should have known what lay ahead and its a shame he took a starting position from somebody else better prepared.

Early scores show that Nick Laurence may be a better replacement..........

Rumsey hasn't retired. If you read his statement and the article in the Cambridge News you'll see it not all how the Mildenhall statement makes it sound. As for Laurence's ability, he's been around several years now.

Not a bad meeting at all and once again NL speedway proves more entertaining than its EL equivalent at Saddlebow (or whatever it is called now).

Mountain and Stokes especially impressive. One very good ride from Kinsley and Ruddick looks promising. Bailey looked good last season and has improved further.

Mildenhall badly need Kingston back and Coles performing.

Was impressed and surprised with the performances last night. Pleased that Stokes was a cut above the rest, but it was the tigerish spirit if the whole team that was so evident, that impressed me most. No doubt there will be stronger teams to come here, but this stars team will improve as well.

Pity there weren't more people there to see it............

We thought there were a lot more KL supporters there than we thought there would be. Only saw one group of Mildenhall supports in their usual place on the first bend.

I thought there was a lot more KL fans than normal, but no where near as many from Mildenhall as in previous years.
