dantodan
Newcastle v Sheffield 12th April was rained off so there are no indicators of how the two sets of riders may go in this encounter! Sheffield Simon Stead Ashley Birks David Bellego Ty Proctor Andre Compton Josh Bates Arthur Sissis Newcastle Steve Worrall Christian Henry Lewis Kerr Anton Rosen Ludde Lindgren Simon Neilsen Lewis Rose Diamonds teams over the years have been unhappy at Owlerton. Will the current 7 Diamonds roll over pointless on the big Sheffield track. I hope not.
Chewbacca
More than 15 always considered a triumph for the Diamonds at the D-Bowl
dantodan
More than 15 always considered a triumph for the Diamonds at the D-Bowl Yes Chewbacca not looking for a win at Owlerton but Newcastle have a team that can surprise, so if I had a few quid to waste on Newcastle each way I would bet it. We have no-one capable of heading Simon Stead but can string together some 3-3 heats. I think the diamonds are up against the Tigers and the Owlerton track. But who knows! I hope Newcastle entertain the Tigers fans regardless of the result.
EIS002
Just interested why they would be up against the Track?
dantodan
Just interested why they would be up against the Track? Are you from a different planet!! Sheffields track is difficult for loads of riders. Nothing wrong with the surface its just a fast track and some visitors like Newcastle (we have a difficult track too) struggle to keep up with the home guys. I hope Newcastle's riders are entertaining on Thursday
Chewbacca
Same reason Sheffield find the Newcastle track track difficult. It is no criticism of the Sheffield track preparation etc. Basically Newcastle = throttle off and turn left at the end of the straight Sheffield = put your 600cc engine in and hang on

Steve55
This should be a closer meeting than Plymouth. From memory last year they did quite well and we didn't win by many. Neilsen was confident with the track, but just couldn't get enough points to maintain his place in the Sheffield team, so he has a point to prove to the promotion. As a junior Steve Worrall used to ride Sheffield nearly every week, but both he and his brother never seem to do well now when they come back! All in all think this will stay close, but the Diamonds will get a chance to put somebody the black & white helmet on!

baxiboy
This is one of the few matches I used to like to watch at Sheffield especially when Larsen & Bach rode together. Newcastle generally looked to have a good top 5 in their teams over the years but Stevie Worrall is not a number one by any means, Rosen looks weak, Henry can go from good to bad in a flash & Lindgren doesn't seem to travel well. Kerr is hitting a bit of form & Nielsen has a point to prove but I reckon they'll get a spanking. If Rose is still injured it seems to find a reserve who goes well around there. The highlight of any meeting at Sheffield is without doubt the carvery.
dantodan
Rose is back from injury. The Diamonds riders averages are not bad at all and are better than the Tigers apart from Simond Steads who at close to 10pts should notch another max against my team. However, as a realist I think Sheffield will win this but who knows maybe our team of second strings will surprise the Owlerton faithful and me too! Go on Ludde and the lads
OdsalBoy
Really cant wait for this one. Im obviously going for the Sheffield win, and it could be a fairly close encounter. For me Kerr is the dangerman for Newcastle. But confidence in the Sheffield camp must be very high, and this team is amazing on home shale. Bring it on ! Stead to hit a max. The White Knight
C'mooooon the 'Diamonds'. I hope we can do reasonably well here - but particularly, no injuries to either Team please.
Tigerite
If Tigers ride like they have been, this should be a comfortable home win.

Totally agree I don't see anything in Newcastle side that should worry us especially if we ride to our early season form. And of course the Newcastle don't have good at Sheffield even when we have had a poor team and Newcastle have had a decent team they have never performed well at Sheffield. Hi OdsalBoy, I note you say Sheffield are amazing on home shale just what us Diamond fans didn't want to hear. Newcastle are a legend in their lunch hour ! so a good match in prospect eh? I hope our lads get to grips with your big fast track and win or lose I hope you enjoy the Diamonds visit
Tigerish
Newcastle's line up this year seems a little light compared to some years. My prediction 55-35 to the Tigers to keep the run going at least until Drye House.
