Dietbowers
Former devil Ryan Fisher.... I used to really dislike the bloke when riding for the Monarchs. Tonight though, that was just sad to watch! A very very big shadow of the rider he used to be... nowhere near being competitive! The real s how stopper from tonight was Jakobsen. . He will be number 1 for Rye at the end of the season.. he really is some Saw a bit from him last night...once from the gate, one superb overtake on the last bend...looks a good`un to me... Ben91
Think these guys like him and Lawson know where the money is made and just "topping up "with Pl points money without taking to many chances! Wonder how many bites this comment will get? Fear for Plymouth this season, got absolutely ruined tonight.
Guest
RYE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE::: ::::::: Rockets Smash and Grab! The Restart Rockets proved that they are still very much alive and kicking in this season’s League Cup as they pulverised Plymouth 66-24 in Hoddesdon on Saturday night. Easter Monday’s home defeat against Peterborough and a subsequent battling loss at Somerset had dented the Rockets’ ambitions, but three match points here provided fresh impetus by lifting them back to the top of the southern group ahead of both the Panthers and Rebels. Rye’s remaining fixtures see them head to Plymouth (Friday, April 17th) and Ipswich (Thursday the 23rd) as they bid to seal the group and reach the competition’s semi-finals. Eight 5-1s and five 4-2s demonstrate the demolition job the Rockets inflicted on their adversaries, with Robin Aspegren and Anders Mellgren both going through the card with five ride maximums. It was both Swedes’ maiden full houses for the club; recent addition Aspegren is just six matches into his Rye House run, but in Mellgren’s case his association goes back to 2012 and his maximum finally ended a search for a personal Holy Grail, as he explained afterwards. “I have been so close to a maximum with Rye before, and it is great to finally get there! It has taken the pressure off because I have always been so nervous before Heat 15 when I was nearly there before. “We are still very much in with a shout in the League Cup. We all believe that we can get through this group and reach the semi-finals. All the boys are on pretty good form, and when we get Kasper (Lykke) back (from a knee ligament injury) we will be even stronger.” If Mellgren and Aspegren were the two biggest heroes for the Rockets, they weren’t the only ones, with Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen (9+2), Edward Kennett (10) and Steve Boxall (9+1) following them into double figures, and the reserve berths well serviced by guests James Sarjeant (6+2) and Jan Graversen (6). Despite the one-sided score-line, there was a liberal sprinkling of good racing on view, with the highlight a thrilling Heat 7 that saw Jakobsen drive around Kyle Newman for the victory and Sarjeant finish half a bike length adrift of Sam Simota in the battle for third spot. Boxall’s third lap surge around Morten Risager to join Mellgren at the front in Heat 9 wasn’t far off that mark, either. Exciting prospect Jack Holder provided Plymouth’s only race win when steaming under Sarjeant in a dramatic conclusion to Heat 11, although the Devils would have had another earlier in the match but for an unexpected fall by Ashley Morris when tucked in behind partner Matt Williamson for a potential 5-1 in Heat 2. Graversen and Sarjeant took full advantage of their second bite at the cherry to blast a 5-1 of their own in the re-run to take the early score to 10-2 and help get the Rockets on their way. Rye House scorers: Anders Mellgren 13+2 (5 rides, maximum), Robin Aspegren 13+2 (5 rides, maximum), Edward Kennet 10 (4), Nikolaj Jakobsen 9+2 (4), Steve Boxall 9+1 (4), James Sarjeant 6+2 (4), Jan Graversen 6 (4) Plymouth scorers: Jack Holder 8 (5 rides), Sam Simota 5+1 (5), Morten Risager 5 (4 rides, inc 1 as a TR), Kyle Newman 4 (4), Ryan Fisher 1 (4), Matt Williamson (guest) 1 (3), Ashley Morris 0 (5) Match Points: Rye House 3 Plymouth
Penny Cross
Well well well. The Plymouth Speedway Forum has been heavily edited this morning. Most of the comments slating rider performances are still there, been anyone having a go at Trigger or the Promotion have been watered down. I can assure you there was a lot more on there last night! http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/thread/6156/rye-house-devils-saturday-11th. keyham
I must step in here and with hand on heart I can tell you I or any other person has not removed any posts from the past 24 hours. Any post removed must have been done by the person posting not by the STAFF. I have gone over the security, and several posts have been EDITED by the poster but NO post have been removed by any staff, so please check your facts before sticking the knife in peoples backs. Several posts were moved concerning the effect and the points about the kiddies race, but moved to a board for that category which it deserved (Kids race ideas to put forward.), but again not removed.
