Rayleigh
Last season the most frustrating thing was a guest was normally a NL rider when other teams choose real value as a guest, no doubt the reason was, it was the cheap option. This season seemed to be different with Covatti guesting but soon as we lose at home it back to the cheap policy (Greenwood D is not even the best Greenwood, who himself could be dropped any day) And what happens the reserves score a whopping 3 combined. This is not a complaint of Greenwood and I thank him for his efforts but where was Sargeant, Ellis, Clegg, Covatti, or either Neilson to name some. I know we only won 4 heats but with Somersets three No 1s that is usually going to happen its the 3-3s that you need to nick a point. We HAD a chance of wining this section
Chris
That's what I love about Sampford, a pure winner! "This has hopefully been a boost to our confidence". Erm you lost 52-38 John with four race winners.
Statman
Somerset web site says only Kennett missing, but no surprise if reserves absent as well. OT will be missing. No it didn't, the meeting preview was subsequently updated to cover fact there would be guest replacements for both Rye House reserves. J-D
It was probably the driest, barest track I have seen in all my visits to OTA, which was not how to prepare a track with home advantage against any Rye House team which was evident with Rye leading after the first few heats. However it was a surprisingly decent meeting with plenty of effort from both teams. Brady has star quality and will be in demand by EL clubs next season. Also nice to see a quick well organised 2nd half that plenty of people stayed to watch.

Dietbowers
Difference was though, the home team actually won No change there Najjer,a few rolling starts as per normal from the home team and a throttle sticking open for the Waspels Richie Worral in heat 3 made all the difference.... you must have felt at home Indeed, quite a few Wasps supporters there last night... Erm you lost 52-38 John with four race winners. What you don't realise is that he was probably making reference to the fact that the Rockets were in with a shout for much of this meeting. The final score flattered the Rebels. Rye House made a real fist of it and mixed it with the Somerset riders as well as out gating them on a regular basis. Jacobsen, Aspgren, Vissing and Boxall were all competitive pretty much throughout the meeting. There were numerous passes and tight finishes. The meeting was run smoothly by referee Robinson with no re-runs or tape infringements. Although dusty later on in the meeting, the track was first class with two racing lines. Great entertainment.

Great entertainment. have to fully agree with you - it was the best performance by a Rye side at OTA for years
Shadders
How did the attendance look? Was surprised to see such low crowds at the OTA last year, in comparison to previous years, especially with the team doing so well. Dietbowers
Didn`t look that many there to me...
J-D
Probably about 800. Which according to one local was the poorest crowd this year.
Buttons
Well TBH there was a good crowd when Poole were at the OTA as I made the trip myself.
EnglishRoundabout
It was certainly lower than the previous two matches, but when you consider they were a local derby against Plymouth and a Poole select side (which still drew a big crowd) there was no surprise it was lower last night, especially after Rye's three dreadful performances at the OTA last season.
Najjer
Not sure how many that ranks to in terms of numbers, but the first car park was full - so pretty decent. Plymouth meeting made it into the second but being fairly local that is usually the case. With regards the meeting i thoroughully enjoyed that, and as has been said, the scoreline probably doesn't do the meeting justice as Rye were very good value - especially Jakobson and Aspegren who both deserved much more than their scores suggest. Aspegren's ride around the fence was stunning to win heat 8. For the Rebels Lanham continues to prove an inspired signing, and Brady and Josh were once again masterful. Track was surprisingly dry given how much water was put down and dusty, but the racing and action was second to none!
