Vicar
Hi All I would like to buy a book which describes history of british leagues since 1929. Is there any book that you can recommend? It will be good to not have just a tables, but also few words of bakground to get some more knowledge about situation in british speedway those days. I would appreciate any help. arnieg
Best to get two books: 1) Speedway The Pre-war Years by Robert Bamford (Tempus) and 2) British Speedway Leagues 1946-64 - Peter Morrish e-bay is probably your best bet. There are no books covering the post-1965 era other than Peter Oakes' 'Complete History of the British League' (and the Alan Robertson 'sequel') which are good statistical summaries, but have no narrative.

Alan Robertson in line to produce an updated version in the coming few weeks.
