Robinh88
Maybe it's cheaper tracking a team who lose instead of one that scores 55 point every week?
havenagotahope
I think the biggest disappointment last night was as the match slipped away no attempt was made to change that. I remember a few years ago at Workington the bandits had the upper hand and out came Ian Thomas and him and Stoney spent 30mins changing the track and then Worky went on to win easily. That's what being a manager is about influencing any aspect of the meeting you can if it improves the chance of a win.
Fromafar
I get your point but last season was a successful one, and you could count on the fingers of one hand the amount of home defeats, so there must've been some kind of home advantage, or was last years team that much better than this years.Even you know that if you have one decent reserve you can save a meeting last year proved that.We don't have consistently high scoring reserve at home this season(so far). This years team is weak in this department . alang
Yeah but with respect to him how is signing Ben Wilson at no2 going to help? The bloke who scored 2 from 5 here last season. If they want to inprove this team I think they should sign someone decent, Tobias Busch, Huckenbek, Holub, even Aarnio Not sure what average Ben is on but it's less than 5 I think. If that's right and there is about 8.5 points to play with between numbers 2,7 and the shortage to 42.5 would there not be a chance to sign a stronger number 7-possibly someone with up to about a 4 point average.Absolutely no idea if somebody like that exista but just an idea. alang
Â Can you really see this promotion doing that. don't know about last night as wasn't there but against Glasgow if they had watered the track half way through it might have made a difference-but there again it might not What average is James Wright nowadays.See he was second in testimonial at Workington last night and report said it was a gater,s paradise.Home from home at berwick,eh? They attempt to change the track at worky every time the visitors get a heat advantage. Not the way to bring in and keep new blood!

Fromafar
I don't know! I'm not arguing with anyone who is complaining on here, I'm just pointing out that there are people who enjoyed that. Maybe it is because they are folk that enjoy going to live events? I don't know, that might be the reason, I'm guessing. I know one of them thought the presentation was very slick and had a good pace to it tonight. Others that I have been with in the past enjoy watching the riders styles and techniques. For others it is a night out at something that is a lot more attractive to them than sitting in the pub, or watching telly. Tonight, Cook was pretty impressive to watch. Â Each to their own. What I was saying earlier is that the sport maybe needs people who go to enjoy it rather than expecting some speedway nirvana? I mean that with regard to the sport in general. Â It's maybe a regular answer - not a standard answer - so, next time these guys are along, I'll introduce you. I know you really don't enjoy speedway at Berwick, but some do. Is that a bad thing? Do they not have a right to enjoy it? Don't bother with the introductions,as someone who has been a regular attender at Berwick since the Bandits opened in 1968 I find it quite amusing that you think I don't really enjoy the Speedway at Berwick ,but there again this forum is just your fantasy world ,so each to their own. If you cannot see the problem, then it is a definate that it will not be put right. I think certain peop;le ought to spend a bit more time talking to the real fans, perhaps come into the Black & Gold after the meeting and take on board what the fans are really saying. At least Dick Barrie has the mettle to call and get the flack. I did not hear one single person saying they enjoyed the meeting and for all the reasons mentioned on here, I went up to the Grove afterwards and it was the same story. For a person who stands up on the 4th bend to not hear the complaints from a very vocal group of people, really must have his head in the sand. screm
Not so sure it's in the sand ,I would suggest it's firmly elsewhere on his person !! Â Apparently its all attention seeking or looking for self importance, in fact some crave so much of it they may not bother going for future meetings.

Hello Fans. Just back over for the Easter spell from my work in SA. Back over there again until August. How all the good Berwick people (and in some cases not so good!) Have taken in four meetings in last week, Cradley v Coventry (impressed with Crang until he got wiped out), Redcar v Newcastle, Edinburgh v Workington and Berwick v Edinburgh and must say enjoyed them all. Mr Cook was very quick at Berwick and added to a fine Monarchs win. Long live GB Speedway

Robinh88
You weren't the only one, if only it was like that every week,  Though I would probably still moan  If Tarnow can have an entertaining first meeting of season, which I've just viewed  Then so can we Edited April 14, 2015 by TheGreenLions
