Berwick V Edinburgh Lc Saturday, April 11

I've always found it strange that your not allowed to complain without being shot down in flames , if you went to a football or rugby match or went to the cinema and what you saw there was poor you'd quite happily complain about that so why is that when you see a bad meeting you can't say so ?

I think you can, it's the passive aggressive threats of nobody coming through the gates, plus the personal attacks on people who are giving their time and effort to try and keep the club afloat as well as trying to make sure the fans are happy.

In terms of getting results for the fans, is Barker not a signing that show intentions getting results, and entertainment for the fans?

The bad luck that Voldrih has had is a big knock, and the efforts that are going on behind the scenes to get a replacement are immense, as are the frustrations.

It is a very difficult position to fill, especially at this point of the seasons.

If you look at last night's results, considering both Barker and Jonasson are injured, the team didn't perform that badly.

And, yes, I would like to see more dirt on the track, and I don't like it when it's dusty.

That's about the only thing I'm not happy with.

I'd also agree with people on here that would like to see Barker wait until fully fit.

Overall, if we look at where the club is compared to when Peter had just had enough, then we really shouldn't complain (too much at least), and the complaints should be constructive and not personal.

That's my last tuppence on the matter!!!

Berwick top 4 is decent but unless we get a decent 5 pt man we will struggle as tail end is weak IMO .

The way your track is set up it's a garters paradise. Doesn't take long to work it out.

Seems to be taken the home team a time to work things out, presumably the home team have asked for the track to be this way, we just need to crack this gating lark and jobs a goodun.

Shads is right. .. I remember speaking to a few riders a few years ago before the Andersons came in.. The track was bumpy.. had more dirt on and teams were worried about coming to our place... that was the advantage we had; the fear from other teams! That's all gone now! Regardless of the teams we have, there appears to be no real advantage to us!

There's no doubt that the slick track of the last few seasons has nullified Home advantage.

I'm not sure what you mean about divide and rule with supporters club?

Have I missed something?

One of the points I was making is that a lot of regulars (including one who has gone since the very beginning) still enjoy it.

OK, they accept that there wasn't a lot of passing last night, but Cook was superb. They also accept that we have started the season against two of the top teams.

They also accept that we have had a bit of bad luck with the 2 injuries.

They also thought that the remainder of the team all put in a decent shift.

He is a diehard, but not a glory hunter.

He is also realistic about what speedway is, and his expectations.

Don't be fooled by the few who come on here and regulary stick the boot in on here.

They are not representative of the wider picture: look around this forum, it is generally the same types from all clubs.

I don't see the point of coming on here and making passive aggressive threats about not coming back, or that people are going to walk if things aren't done their way.

Why don't they decide not to go if they hate it so much?

The fact is that they need something to moan about, and also an internet forum gives them an inflated sense of self importance.

If I were the club, I'd invite them along to a meeting to get everything off their chest, because there will be criticisms that are fair and can be put in place.

Surely that is a better way to do it?

Let's just take one example. There was a constant complaint about us not having an out and out number 1 for years.

So, the club signed Ricky who banged in the points and got the big wins for us.

Now we have Barker, but not a peep on here about how good a signing he is: kind of says it all really.

Some people must just like a good moan!

Thankfully we have Robin on form with some witty posts to relieve the depression on here!

I think you'll find your in the minority

I stand with a group of maybe a dozen some like me attend as many meetings home and away as possible some are a more casual fan that doesn't follow speedway and Berwick as closely as myself

Not one of them were happy after last night the result combined with a poor nights entertainment

I will go next week if I can I'm not going to walk away because I care about the team and I would find it hard not to go but it know a couple that won't be coming next week and they don't come on here posting it either but like many others they can't see the value for money

You can bang on about bad luck and yes it hasn't been an ideal start injury wise but whoever they bring in for Matic and even when Barker is fully fit I simply do not see how we can compete with the likes of Edinburgh, Glasgow and so on and if the entertainment does not improve I can only see crowd numbers falling

I don't know what the answer is whether it's a case of if nothing improves make team changes or whether we need to make the track a bit rougher but something needs to be done

Maybe the promotion should have a fans forum evening so we can try and help but after the whole thing with the Supporters Club and VIP Club who knows?

I'm just saying you seem to be in the minority I agree more people come on here to moan than anything else but I think if you asked every fan who turned up last night whether they were happy with what they saw then I think the 'moaners' would be in the majority.

I get your point but last season was a successful one, and you could count on the fingers of one hand the amount of home defeats, so there must've been some kind of home advantage, or was last years team that much better than this years.

Matej, Steen or Matty Wethers as senior reserve all season as well as solid top 5... yep, slightly stronger last season...

We are pretty much a 5 man team at the minute although I understand they are trying to sort out the number 2 position but Luke is going to take a lot of time to settle into regular PL racing...

Yeah but with respect to him how is signing Ben Wilson at no2 going to help? The bloke who scored 2 from 5 here last season. If they want to inprove this team I think they should sign someone decent, Tobias Busch, Huckenbek, Holub, even Aarnio

I'd not heard names bandied around. .. just things were in 'motion' for a replacement. I'd avoid Tero though... don't think that he would be a signing to keep people's interest up...
