Woz01
Bees by 6 i reckon I'd go along with that. Not much between the teams at Brandon but it's not exactly Holders favourite venue. Poole missing Starke just swings it our way I feel.
Game On
BUILDBASE BEES v POOLE, PREVIEW Thursday April 09, 2015 COVENTRY face their biggest match of the season so far at Brandon on Friday with the visit of Elite League title favourites and perennial rivals Poole (7.30pm). Recent history provides a long list of epic clashes between the two clubs, who have won nine of the last twelve league championships between them. And they both find themselves at the top of the early Elite League table, with the Buildbase Bees’ wins at home to Wolverhampton and away at Leicester then matched by the Pirates enjoying success both at Swindon and at home to Lakeside. That sets up a terrific battle at Brandon, with the return fixture scheduled for Wimborne Road next Wednesday – and with the excellent spring weather forecast to continue, everything is set up for a thrilling clash. Bees go into the meeting with Stuart Robson still on the sidelines after his crash at Redcar a fortnight ago, and the popular 38-year-old may need another scan as he is still in pain from a lower left leg injury. Boss Gary Havelock has once again booked Ipswich’s Cameron Heeps to guest for Robson, with the young Australian having impressed at Leicester last weekend. Poole boast the 2012 World Champion Chris Holder and Grand Prix newcomer Maciej Janowski at the top of their order, not to mention World Under-21 silver medallist Kacper Gomolski who they recruited late in the winter on a bargain average – as well as one of the outstanding draft reserves in Kyle Newman. And with second-string Josh Grajczonek (a replacement himself for the injured Davey Watt) absent due to a commitment for Somerset, the Pirates have called in King’s Lynn heat-leader Rory Schlein to guest against his former club. Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: “Poole is always the big one, I think it’s the biggest rivalry in speedway between Coventry and Poole. “We’re at home, we’re in our own backyard, and our boys will certainly be up for it and desperate to get a win. “We’ve savoured last weekend, when everyone was so proud of what we did at Leicester, and now we want to push on from that. It should be a great night of racing.” Friday’s match will be followed by another second half event featuring the Coventry Storm riders, who battled to an excellent league point at Cradley on Wednesday. And supporters will also be able to pay tribute to club legend Nigel Boocock, who passed away last week. A book of remembrance has been set up and will be available to sign in the Track Shop. Fingers crossed for an away win fo the Pirates. Roo Boy instead of Watt gives the Pirates a huge advantage .. Great choice of guest & could swing it Poole's way . But I reckon Bees with a team which everyone of them capable of a heat win will do it by 4 .. Lets hope for big crowd ,great racing & an injury free night & SPEEDWAY WILL BE THE WINNER ..

deanr1
I think that's a very good point. If Watt was riding I would feel much more confident. Rory Schlein the professional guest! I don't know how many times I've seen him guesting against us in the last few years but it's too many. No doubt we will see him lining up against us for more teams who aren't Kings Lynn before the season is out. I notice there were 5 guests riding at Swindon tonight, the season has barely started and already all we see is guests guests and more guests.

Think he fell out with Coventry's management last year after he made some hurtful comments about Havvy's arm and disability. "Bees go into the meeting with Stuart Robson still on the sidelines after his crash at Redcar a fortnight ago, and the popular 38-year-old may need another scan as he is still in pain from a lower left leg injury" This above statement is a bit concerning for us bees fans. mdmc82
Much better scores and racing from Stefan last night so maybe he had been having bike problems before that. If so, he could be a lot better on this visit. It's great to not be worrying about risk of rain. Forecast for the hottest day of the year today. Sun is already out ☀️

deanr1
Yeah all these riders getting deliberately injured - its really not on is it?? You must be one of a very small minority who don't feel that guests and doubling up are bad news for speedway then and make a mockery of the sport. Last years play offs for example, we knocked out Swindon, then 2 of our riders ride for Kings Lynn in the other semi final. That's laughable in itself, but then 2 of the Swindon team we knocked out pop up again in the final riding for Poole. And we wonder why fans walk away from the sport never to be replaced. But you keep burying your head in the sand if you like.

Very one sided comment MDMc82. Two sides to every argument and I was present and you wouldnt want to hear what you Team Manager called me, let alone Rory, so lets just drop it shall we. End of discussion.
Dickie Head
I was writing Sunday's sermon yesterday evening and as I typed thoughts about 'a camel passing through the eye of a needle' my mind was taken to tonights meeting between these two great clubs where 'passing' should be applauded and 'needle' must be avoided. As to the camel, well I think I will liken this to the losing team manager as he will certainly have the hump. To all of you going or participating, have an enjoyable and safe evening. And just in case you wondered I favour the Bees 47 - 43.

I sincerely wish I was able to be there and sign Nigels book of remembrance. I will certainly take a moment of quiet contemplation at 7.30 tonight while watching Plymouth v Peterborough. Speedway needs more riders like Nigel. Sadly, they broke the mould after him.
