mdmc82
Who sorted the NL fixtures this year as wasn't thought out very well. Â Looking at just May at the moment. Luke Crang is due to miss 4 of the 6 fixtures (including Koc) due to PL clashes. That alot of meetings to not have your No 1.
Sings4Speedway
Annoying yes but not directly the fault of those who do the fixtures. There is always the risk of clashes with doubling up/down riders included in a side. Given that Cov NL get the spare Fridays the Cov EL aren't at home and that several PL teams run on Friday nights it was bound to happen. Plenty of others will be in the same boat. morganbike
Wednesday is an exception and Cradley/Birmingham will never suffer for home meets. As Guests can only be used at 1 then the Storm have the option of bringing in any Decent heat leader to cover. Other than that it's Dan at 1 and RR. SCB
Annoying yes but not directly the fault of those who do the fixtures. As I mentioned on the Leicester vs BV I'm working no a project ATM that required me to produce a fixture list. So I knocked up some code that allowed me to put every clubs race day in for EL and PL clubs that then run off fixtures for EL and PL teams with no clashes for double up riders. It could very easily be modified to add proxy fixtures (basically fake meetings) where you have riders missing for dentist appointments, international meetings and the like. Adding NL to it wouldn't be that difficult either and I'm willing to bet that if I had all NL teams in my database I could in a few minutes run you off a full EL, PL and NL fixture list with minimal clashes (possibly even zero - bank holidays ruin the chance of zero though). Â The fact we have so many clashes is laziness. it CAN be avoided in about 95% of cases IMO.
Main Man
well SCB perhaps you can offer this facility to NL co-ordinator Peter Morrish for future use?
SCB
well SCB perhaps you can offer this facility to NL co-ordinator Peter Morrish for future use? I've posted on the forum before I'd be happy to talk to someone at the BSPA about tweaking it to suit the sports needs.
John Leslie
well SCB perhaps you can offer this facility to NL co-ordinator Peter Morrish for future use? Not sure SCB's code will run on Mr Morrish's Smith-Corona typewriter.

mdmc82
Â Premier League Oh no. That's gonna be a huge blow to Storm esp when Crang already due to be missing a lot. Currently the strongest top 2 in the league
Brummie Kev
I think thats a nonsense, how the hell should Rye House get priority. Hes a Coventry Asset and has been with the Storm from the start of the season. Edited April 27, 2015 by Brummie Kev
SCB
I think thats a nonsense, how the hell should Rye House get priority. Hes a Coventry Asset and has been with the Storm from the start of the season. Because the PL is professional and the NL is a training/development league (cue Parsloes.... ). From a Coventry POV it's great that our riders are getting high league experience with a view to going on and ride for the Bees. Â Would any Coventry fans really prefer that we do well in NL now rather than be a success with our juniors being promoting in the EL in years to come? If we stop our riders trying to better themselves we'll not have the next generation of Bees. Â It's a nice headache to have.

Gemini
I didn't realise there was a NL match planned for that Sunday but perhaps it has something to do with the Bees riding the next day? Not many people would go to both and the attendances for The Storm matches seem to be down on last season so probably not a good idea to ride the day before an E.L. meeting. NeilWatson
COVENTRY are delighted to announce the signing of one of the sport's most talented youngsters. Â 15-year-old Jamie Halder has agreed to join the City Gearboxes Storm after impressive results in the various Youth categories. Â Both Halder and Callum Walker will be given opportunities with the Storm over the coming weeks as they also have to combine their racing with school work. Â To facilitate the move, the Storm have allowed Stefan Farnaby to join Mildenhall, and we wish him all the best for the remainder of the season.
