Rye House Vs Peterborough Panthers 6/4/15 Lc

Recommended Posts

Was weird as sitting on first bend, couldn't see 4th bend with people standing by start line, was leading went a silly middle line with mpt inside then coming into first bend, he lost speed lifted and lost momentum and almost gave up!

Perhaps he was peed off with the track? Shads mentioned earlier that he had a row with Len Silver about the track earlier in the meeting labelling it "dangerous".

No water put down during the meeting, despite requests from riders and even the new owner. All requests were turned down by Len Silver.

Can't figure it out.

Spoke briefly to Edward Kennett after the meeting. He was NOT a happy bunny!!

Yeah heard Len speaking to your team manager as sitting in that corner saying if water the track now will be slippy abd a grade will do them, if he watered it after 4 heats and kept the moisture in would of been fine.

Could of potentially cost your side a place in semi finals after a good start, nice one Len.

I'm not an expert, but everyone around me was saying to drag the dirt in and water it. No use watering concrete, that would be dangerous. I'm not saying it would've had an impact on the result, but it may have helped. Rockets looked comfortable up until half way through the match. Opportunity lost Edited by Shads

I was looking forward to both this meeting and the Raiders match but have returned home disappointed, cold and covered in dust. We all know by now Ed doesn't do heat 15 but otherwise he was great and Anders wasn't far behind. The problem is others had uncharacteristcally poor days at the office.Jakobsen and Aspegren were down on previous performances whilst Boxall seemed to have brought along one of his old lawnmowers for the day. What's happened to Luke though? Decent at Peterborough and Ipswich (guest on Friday) but in 3 meetings at home he has managed just 5 points from 10 rides.

So are the first three meetings a flash in the pan or was today a blip. Whatever, not the best way to visit Somerset next Friday.

Lost opportunity to all but cement a place in the League Cup Semi Finals.

Mellgren turned up today, which is positive. Unfortunately Robin, Boxall and Bowen didn't. Kennett led by example in his opening four rides, was poor in heat 15. Jakobsen had his worst meeting for us so far in scoring six, we shouldn't be expecting more than that from him yet so he's exempt from criticism in my eyes.

For the Panthers, Palm Toft looked very good. Robert Lambert too.

Despite the track conditions there was some very good racing, Lambert and Jakobsen's tussle and heat 13 spring to mind.

Well done to the Panthers, put themselves back in the mix to progress now.

Speaking to Nikolaj in the bar after the meeting, he told me that he'd be missing Plymouth away (17th) & Sheffield at home (18th) due to an U21 meeting. We'll also be without Edward for Somerset next Friday due to his Lakeside commitments. Whisper is Claus Vissing is our guest at Somerset

Ha, didn't the last Captain have a row with Len about his crap track preparation, now Ed must be the troublemaker and disruptive influence.

Business as usual

We've gotta cut down on away trips, too expensive.
