cityrebel
I think that eastbourne's first ever meeting as a stand alone NL club deserves a topic of its own. The weather forecast looks a bit dodgy, but drier PM. If this goes ahead I am expecting an eagles win.

Alex2000
Why R/R for Ben I thought he was riding? Apparently he has to ride for Redcar Can't be a bad thing can it?
teaboy279
Seems a bit backwards to me that when 2 clubs agree he can ride for kent that the authoritys then say he must ride for Redcar. Also find it frustrating that as we have one of the highest averages number 1's we can pick more or less any national league rider as a guest but instead we have to use RR. Under be rules do we HAVE to name a number 8?
Wiseguy
Seems crazy to me. Imo Eastbourne are stronger for greenwood replacing mason, but kings are far weaker losing their only real established heat leader This could be a mauling i fear
flipper11
Yes I think it is a bad thing. This would have been a very good competitive meeting and I was really looking forward to it, but with R/R for Kent No 1 it will be totally 1 sided and for sure not worth travelling to see. OldHawk
I wont go now because Kent cannot track a full side for their first match of the season, I wonder how many others just wont bother. Speedway is in a very bad way 8-(
stevec
How frustrating that on the first match we have both number ones missing! We should be talking about the excitement of a real local Derby but instead its all about missing riders. I do think this helps Eastbourne and its a real shame Kent cant use a guest. No-one really knows how Eastbourne are going to go but I think that, with all the practice they have had, we will see a home win by 10 points. COME EASTBOURNE! Guest
Dan Greenwood for David Mason R/R for Ben Morley This has been posted on the David Mason website:: MASON TO MISS OPENER By Eastbourne Speedway | Thursday 2nd April 2015 Eastbourne IT First Eagles plans have been rocked this morning by news that club captain and No 1 David Mason is ill. The Eastbourne-based rider has flu and is suffering from chest pains. It means he will not be able to ride in tomorrow’s opening match at Arlington against the Kent Kings. blueherb777
What a farce 1st meeting that Kent are without their No 1. Thrashing for Kings if meeting is on. Unbelievable that Eagles loose Mason but are stronger with Greenwood. Only in Speedway can this happen ???

Under be rules do we HAVE to name a number 8? No you don't have to name a number 8. But even if you did, you don't have to give him any rides. You don't have to use R/R for Ben either. The management have chosen R/R instead of a guest as they put in the press release there's no suitable guests available. I wonder what the likes of Crang (now he isn't Redcar's guest), Hopwood, Stokes or Chessell are doing as they are riders that have travelled in the past or if they've even been contacted. greyhoundp
10-00am here in Bournemouth it was very light Drizzle here from 7-00pm ish yesterday, this morning its steady rain, now (Poole Off) i dont know how much of this you are going to get over in Eastbourne (coming your way) but it has to make the meeting doubteful, as for Kent going with RR this definately makes them weaker, and can see a big home win on the cards. Alex2000
Martin is speaking to the man in charge of the weather - who is now quaking in his boots. Man in charge has promised to change the weather asap. Haha. Hope he does!
flipper11
Well im off to Lakeside instead now, watching Mr Boxall sounds a lot more appealing than watching us get a stuffing at Eastbourne.
