YAMYAMBANDIT
Could you not give up just a wee bit of your time? Say a one-off day to provide Heppy with a bit of training? Sorry my friend. To maintain my standard of living, I have to work 6 days a week. My evenings are taken up as full time carer for my wife. Saturday night off Sundays I need for sobering up after Saturday night. and catch up on the house keeping I did not do on Satuday night. Thats what happens when you get older, and one of you is less firm. However, if I could afford to retire, (not likely while the Tories are in Government) then I would gladly volunteer. YAMYAMBANDIT
Heppy probably doesn't go on the Internet telling him how to sell watches And I thought you welcomed constructive criticism As said Heppy has done a good job so far, he now needsv to take it to the next level. Hoy! I wasn't criticising you, I was just wondering if you were able to help!
sparkafag
Initially I thought Ian was a good punt, sadly I was proved wrong and his type of track grading became a liability. Heppy is learning and has been listeneing, he now needs to make the next step to improve the track preperation. Before anyone asks or even suggests I gave up my time to help, the answer is a BIG NO. My job as a fan is to turn up on a Saturday through thick and thin. Sounds like you could be a real help, have you prepped many tracks before? Shadders
Yes, it has. Full marks ("Excellent") to preparation, surface and fence. Again. Since you ask. Berwick used to be unbeatable at home when the track wasn't as well prepared (on purpose I suspect)
YAMYAMBANDIT
Sounds like you could be a real help, have you prepped many tracks before? No ! If I were lucky enough to retire, I would pay for myself to get the practical knowledge, the theory I have. If he was still alive I would have gone over to Czech and paid Antonin Casper to teach me. I would the quite gladly give up my time, free of charge of course. Please note however, I am not financially in that situation. Now would you give that type of commitment. bigeddiechek
Berwick used to be unbeatable at home when the track wasn't as well prepared (on purpose I suspect) 2005 being a great example, we were regularly hammering teams at home and almost won the league. The crowds were terrible, people stopped coming to watch. It shows the very peculiar attitude of some Berwick "fans".
Shadders
Sounds like you could be a real help, have you prepped many tracks before? Such a lame argument..... I've never had a woodwork lesson in my life, but I know a nice bit of furniture when I see it. 2005 being a great example, we were regularly hammering teams at home and almost won the league. The crowds were terrible, people stopped coming to watch. It shows the very peculiar attitude of some Berwick "fans". We won the league in 2005, hammering 50+ points past most teams week on week. Crowds at Rye House were more than double what they are now..... Berwick fans are weird Edited April 7, 2015 by Shads
Fromafar
Hoy! I wasn't criticising you, I was just wondering if you were able to help!Didn't come over in that manner to the casual observer IMO
bigeddiechek
... the theory I have... Ahh, then you might be the man to answer one of my questions on track prep. What is considered to be the optimum percentage moisture content for the crucial factors of compaction and friction? Didn't come over in that manner to the casual observer IMO Yes it did. sparkafag
Such a lame argument..... I've never had a woodwork lesson in my life, but I know a nice bit of furniture when I see it. No argument here it was a question of curiosity. That being said, I haven’t flown a spaceship before, and that I really want to/would like to doesn’t mean I would be able to, and nor does it mean I would be telling Buzz Aldrin how to fly one. cyclone
Shielfield has never been one of my favourite tracks to watch speedway win, draw or lose. (from 1968 onwards) However I recognise your Promotion are severely constrained from making any alteration to it's shape or dimensions by Berwick Rangers FC. If there are no alternative sites nearby to create a purpose built track, then it's better than nowt.

I dont want to be hammering teams at home but would settle for 3 or 4 decent races per meeting with some passing even if we lost but as Dick says theres no passing at Berwick hes no far wrong
