Yep wont argue with that, or lynn, sheffield, scunny is pretty good as well. Such a pity for me at leicester cos im not far in lincoln, and i quite like the friendly set up theyv got, but i just cant watch that load of donkey do if thats what its like every week! Im hoping, and i am i think, that it was due to bad weather and they took all the dirt off to save the meeting?? Please someone tell me thats what happened and its actually a lot better than tonight

There was more passing tonight than Tursdays Sky meeting. Bjarne and Lambert must have been picked off about 6 times between them.

 

Not a classic by any means but a long way from the worst speedway meeting I have seen.

Awful speedway from start to finish, its all true what iv read, its one of if not THE worst track in the country! no chance whatsoever of a decent race due to the poor preparation and tight turns. It was rubbish tonight, first time iv been in over 2 seasons, and il not be rushing back to see who can get to the bend first, oh and just to put it straight, I was on the start of the 1st bend, Andersen clearly forced and knocked Doyle off, left him no room at all, typical of Andersen though.

 

We decided to give it another go last night after hardly missing a meeting in the first three seasons. The quality of speedway on offer just reinforced the reasons why we don't go anymore. Most races are over by the entrance to the 3rd bend on the 1st lap. In the past the addition of more dirt has caused the riders even more problems negotiating the bends. Ultimately the shape is wrong and as it's unlikely to be changed now I guess that's pretty much our last visit. Super set up otherwise, being held back by the spectacle that track produces. Nice touch to have the minute's applause for Nigel Boocock.

As far as the track is concerned - nothng wrtong with it - Bees riders were passing ok - Have heard Kings Lynn is better - well it wasn't on Tues for the Sky meeting .... that meeting was terrible!!

It does sound like there was more passing at Leicester last night than our home meeting against Wolves last week. For me it's not necessarily about passing but also close racing and not strung out.

A great result by Coventry, but Swindon went there last season not expecting much, but won 37-52. They seem to be vulnerable on their own track.

To be fair Lakeside and Belle Vue were the only teams not to win there last year.

However on paper this team look alot stronger than last year.

Absolute shocker from the lions & some serious words needs to be had with Pedersen because on track he just doesn't seem committed.

 

Massive high five to Chris "co*k up" Popple for telling the crowd during the interval it was Eric Boocock that had died during the interval just another long line of mistakes for someone who clearly doesn't follow speedway !!!!

When Bees signed JK, they became playoff certs along with Poole and KL. Well done on the win and this team could win the EL for what may be the last year at Brandon. Go Bees.

This was my first visit to leicester speedway, and i thought the set up track included was very good. There was a good crowd more than the Bees last home meeting and a fair ammount of passing and hard close racing. The Bees were solid and never looked like losing, Hans and jonas were top draw. Well done boys and Well done Mick on the signing of Korpi.

Bees last home meeting was same night as England were playing so although good, not as many as usual.

Gemini I think we both sing from the same hym sheet in our expectations, when I talk about the tractor I was referring to the items that the tractor was towing I.e. Grading tools, a better variation than seen on most tracks in particular the roller. Another point is how lucky Doyle was to have 13 rerun, not first bench bunching, he opened it up realised he couldn't do it went down, no rider pushed him and he went down on his own for whatever reason he would like to give. It worked though he rode in the rerun.a big of sour grapes I would think.

Also worth notng I took my 6yo niece to her first Bees meeting (she's been to 3 Cardiffs plus a Somerset/Birmingham meeting when she was too young to know what was going in) and she loved it and informs me we have to go every week. She even understood the TR, she found it funny that "red and blue were rubbish" so needed us to give then a chance.

 

The sport CAN attract them young if some effort is made.

That was probably the best meeting since it opened, lol

 

so many people within the sport have told DH the track shape is wrong but I guess he is too stubborn to change it which is a real shame as the rest of it is great.

The sport CAN attract them young if some effort is made.

Not so sure it can, if the older ones are bored with the long drawn out meetings then kids will too,especially in the chilly evenings.

Happened right in front of us Ando gave Doyle a massive shove as he was trying to get over the top of him, all 4 back, just a hard 1st turn

Gemini you would have the forum believe that the tractor was out every other race.

The fact is I went out after heat two other than that it was the same as every other track. After heats 4,7 interval and 14 for about 5 mins each time.

As you know we have had heavy rain for the last few days and the track was soft in places so at the request of both Teams they asked me to do a few laps after heat two just to move any heavy soft dirt to the outside which I did.

The Interval grade is a bit longer as the track staff and have 10 mins so I use that time to make the track the best I can in that time.
