tellboy
I agree Trees, to a point. Then again do you feel like a fan these days at Lynn or just a customer ? I am sure the fans would more than do there bit, but it is something that has to work both ways. Fans dont want to feel or be treated like customers, but I am afraid thats the way things feel at Saddlebow right now. Buster could do a lot more. For example last week was only a glorified freindly yet he charges top dollar for it. This week we have the meeting live on Sky yet no mention of reduced admission to try and encourage the Fans to attend. Long gone are the days when all Speedway Promotions had to do was throw open the gates and wait for the fans to hand their cash over. Will Lessons be learnt before it tips itself over the edge ? Don't quite agree with the glorified friendly and charging full price.I bet the riders didn't take a price cut,the energy company didn't let him have cheap electric for the night or food, drink, shale or the ref came at a discount.Maybe if he got all them on the cheap we may have got in for £16.50. At the end of the day we are customers like we are in almost every other sport.
Starman2006
Christ we've had a couple of meetings this season ONLY, one a testimonial and one a cup meeting and people are bemoaning the atmosphere, what is wrong with everyone!! Its called not having that winning metality Steve. You've got to get up straight away after you've been knocked down. In KL 's case if the fans and management don't do that your wasting your time. Gemini
I'm sure Trees will love being called Steve....or perhaps Starman knows better and there is something she is not telling us. Now I've thought about it I think I have the answer. The pressure has been getting to Starman and he was at the time thinking 'I must not reveal I am Steve Shovlar' so had the name Steve in his head. Sadly without thinking he transferred it into words. Sussed at last. Edited March 30, 2015 by Gemini

Vincent Vega
Comfortable home win for the Stars. Bryn would do a cracking job as mike man. Back in the day he was always a class above Mr Bennett. Mike was too cheesey sounded like a commercial radio DJ all the time.

Daniel Smith
To end any confusion my real name is Theresa which some people pronounce Trees..a hence Trees, I am female lol Stop playing games, everyone knows you're Steve Hone. Starman is the first person to spot it, what a guy Phil Rising, you should have this guy do some detective work for the Speedway Star rather than selling it to 5 people a week. A bright kid this one with a big future.
g13webb
Yet another cold and miserable start to the day...... Don't we know the speedway season has started....... The rain is suppose to stop mid morning but the wind is forecast all day. Not the best preparation for a league match, but no doubt Sky was expecting this when they made their plans. Thoughts go out to all the people who have to work in it...... Big question now on doing the right thing, call it off early to save all the preparation work or make that gamble call, knowing people will want to stay at home and watch it in the warm......... Sensibility should prevail......
mrss
I don't get why people worry about it being cold tonight. If youre cold it's because you haven't got the right clothing on. I am looking forward to going tonight and watching the stars start there league campaign with a win.
Mimmo
If this wind keeps up as strong as it is, we could be on track blown around with the two teams, as it's difficult to keep on your feet at the moment. It's bin collection day here today, and at the moment, the road and gardens look like a recycling centre with rubbish everywhere. Despite all that, still very much looking forward to watching the meeting tonight, but must confess that with it being shown live on SKY, added to the fact that the Italy v England footie match is being shown live, I get a feeling there won't be to many of us there. Good luck to both sets of riders tonight, I'm sure it will be a great night of racing.
g13webb
Nobody enjoys their speedway more than I. But sometimes, reality has to come into the reckoning. Sky Meetings are notoriously slow even on the best of evenings, but to wait around in the cold for some blasted Advert interval is not to my liking.. I agree we can get dressed sensibly for the weather but standing about, waiting all the time does nobody any favours..... so when the choice to either, to view from the warm armchair or to hang around in the blustery cold wind, I'm afraid there's only one winner....... Please notice, I haven't even mentioned the cost in this viewpoint......
