SteveLyric2
More likely to be slick with the slop all scraped off I'd have thought. Hard to believe there's not a cloud in the sky now after what we had this morning! Should suit Poole to a tee then, I'd have thought!! Although it sounds as though having so much spare shale sitting around at the arena and putting it on too late has led to a poorly prepared and dangerous track for both sets of riders!! Daniel Smith
Was IMO an extremely poor meeting. A couple of good battles but in the main well strung out heats. Hope all injured rider's are back asap

Hope Porsing will be ok after that nasty looking tumble.Think Holder will be he just seemed to be a bit disinterested after his first heat fall. Would like to see the speedway season started mid April that was bloody cold tonight.Instead we start in March and have some nice Wednesday nights off in the summer with no racing. Trees
Blast that was cold! Well done to the Pirates on their win, I knew we would struggle after the big loss at Poole Best wishes to Nick and Chris, hope they have no lasting injuries. Nick was going for the big one, such a shame he got caught out 😡 So pleased that our management have decided to produce a proper programme for our 50th year, even though it's more money it's worth it 😊 Loved the old march played at the start of the meeting, may have been lost on many lol Must say also that Matt tried hard tonight, thank you ☺ Roll On Tuesday!!
mdmc82
See Middlo is at it again. This time he's taking to Twitter to publicly slate the Kings Lynn track. Is this because he lost? Maybe he needs to look much closer to home to see what a poor track is. Even holder has commented on how bad the Poole track is.
Bagpuss
Would be interested to hear first hand what the track was like as nobody who was there has actually said it was bad, even rentagob Muddlo was only whining about the fact that it took an hour to run 4 heats. mrss
Didn't go last night a s couldn't justify spending 17 pounds on a glorified challenge match. What does the new programe cost.

According to Speedway Updates there was an issue on the third bend that caused both Holder and Schlein to come off.............. Holder is taking a week out because he has agrievated a shoulder injury..............and is not doing the pairs meeting in Torun at the weekend............ Some people really need to get a hold of the facts before criticising riders for under performing.............. RP
Haza
Poor meeting in my option 4heats in an hour is no good on a freezing cold night and on top of that why have an interval ? And tractor racing ?

Holder is taking a week out because he has agrievated a shoulder injury..............and is not doing the pairs meeting in Torun at the weekend............ Some people really need to get a hold of the facts before criticising riders for under performing.............. RP That comment came from the mouth of yours truly. For Holder to fall off around our place, I think is highly unusual personally. Both he and Rory seemed to get into bother in the same place, so I honestly thought that there was a rut or something over there on bend 3 that caused them both to come off. Just my view. Could well be wrong. It had rained a lot yesterday morning and apparently stocks had been on the track over the weekend just gone so... I imagine that may well have not helped? I left after heat 11 last night. Could not stick it any longer I'm afraid. Was far too cold. My feet and hands were like blocks of ice! What really did it for me was them saying that they were going into an interval after heat 10...even though we had had several delays early doors for all those crashes. Riders were hurt and needed assistance, that's fine, I don't mind waiting for that, but to then have an actual interval after all those delays on such a cold night seemed madness to me. Normally they say, no interval, let's get these remaining 5 heats done, but not last night. We had an interval of tractor racing instead Quite a few others left the meeting before I did...like...maybe even after heat 9, simply due to the fact that they were that cold they just couldn't watch anymore! g13webb
There was nothing wrong with the track, all the problems were related to rider error. In the first Holder went to bend 3 a bit hot and fraction wide and baled out, actually slid into the air fence... Was joking with friends and officials as he walked back to the pits. It was said he had aggregated an old injury and withdraw from the meeting. When you see Magic, Niels, North giving it their all and racing hard, the track was no problem. Rory was left at the gate and was trying to make up ground in heat 3, and while chasing hard, caught some grip, and laid it down , no problems there. Lewis Kerr twice when leading, went to sleep and drifted wide allowing to be overtaken by Ellis...... Posing's off was completely different. having got a got run out of turn 2 Ellis, seems to lose control and goes wide putting Porsing in the fence. Ellis was excluded instantly. On a cold night the promotion should have been a lot slicker, and the Ref on the button quicker.. Mildo, going on about 4 races in the first hour, should expect that, when you turn up with riders short. R/R always slows the meeting down and should be banned. It has to be Guests or No 8's. last night was ridiculous waiting 10mins in the freezing cold because riders were racing in too many heats...... Niels was majestic, North was impressive, but without doubt the 'Rider of the Night' was Janowski, Beaton only in one race he was simply awesome. The movement against Rory was something else. Having made the gate, Rory had the edge going into the first bend, Magic, simply straightened up a fraction to get that extra drive and was gone... Something so simply, so classical that few could do it and even less noticed it... That was worth, the admission, the cold and the waiting around, alone. semion
Sounds very much like I made a good call in not going. As for an Interval, well there can only be one reason for that. Looking forward to the proper opening meeting next week, weather permitting.
brewer
i do have to have a wry smile, riders crash at poole/cov or wherever etc its the track, several crashes at kings lynn and its rider error, there was even mention that stocks had been there at the weekend and it had rained all morning, how many times have we heard buster preparing a superb track for str and nl meetings the day after stocks and as for the weather the track was superb in the semi's last year after rain up to 6/7pm of the day, just admit buster got it wrong this time. semion
Of course Buster gets it wrong, from time to time. He is human. People seem to forget he only took the job on a few years back, after Huggy was ( cough) moved on. Now that guy was a real a real Craftsman. I dont remember him EVER producing a dodgy one. Mind the Memory isnt what it once was.
