Third Raceday Weather Update - 2.45pm

Just leaving for track - next update from there circa 4 to 4.30pm. No further change in the weather as it's sill fine, bright and sunny with blue sky here just across the south side of the Dartford crossing with Blue skies above. NO weather problems expected though.

Further update from track circa 4 to 4.30pm

If Leicester are to be taken as serious playoff contenders, this is a match where they must come away with at least a point.

There can't be any "we'll get something next time we ride there"....it's got to start straight away. Won't have a better chance than this.....

Very few teams come away from Lakeside with points - a bit like Eastbourne was! I don't see that changing much this season but got to applaud your optimism.

Think Leicester should be looking at getting something from this meeting as will go harder places

I'm sure the Hammers will do their best to make sure that doesn't happen! :) Having Barker as a guest has definitely strengthened the Lions though.

Think Leicester will get an away point.

Most Lakeside fans I spoke to thought the same, the rest thought a very narrow home win. Nobody expected that result. I suppose it just goes to show you can never judge these things on paper.

Kim Nilsson was excellent in defeating the charging Doyle in heat one, three wins in his ten points, Bech slipped smoothly and almost unnoticed to a paid max, hardly troubled by the Lions, but Kennett was just on fire with paid 12 from his first four rides. Must be his best meeting for about 3 years. Pity he got squeezed out in heat 15.

For Leicester Doyle was class although a bit hit and miss. Auty had by far his best meeting ever at Lakeside, and although Wosniaks score doesn't look much I thought for a first timer at the track he stuck to his task manfully and looked better in each race as he got the circuit weighed up. Walasek was virtually anonymous but as for Bjarne, well, all I can say is he must have though he was racing against Poole.

I

What idiot decided Barker on a t/r was a good idea with Doyle in the next race not that it will matter to the end result.

Must be the dumbest T/R decision for a long time especially as he was out against Nilsson who had just beaten Doyle

I was wrong Walasek didn't get 2 he only got 1!!

And he wouldn't have got that if Pederson had ridden Arena as he can. I think it would it be fair to say that in the 10 years or so since Greg rode regularly at Arena he has not progressed one bit.The trepidation at the 1st bend said it all. I wonder what he thought when he saw the fixture list

I think Lakeside are going to be a very tough nut to crack at home again this season. It has always been a hard place to come to at the best of times but this years team looks to have a nice blend. There home form alone might be anough to have them hovering near the play/offs i wonder though how many points they can pick up along the way away from home.?.Kennett for me is the key if he can get a reasonable consistency level for the whole season, and Bech to also show us that he is a potential improver heat leader it could be a good year for the Faithful Lakeside fans.

Not sure why everyone think we are favourites to be fighting it out with Wolves for the wooden spoon and we have a team only good at home. AJ, Lawson, Bech, Birks and most probably Ellis are all better on bigger tracks. Nilsson and Kennett are lakeside specialists but Eddie on form can also score on the bigger tracks. I like everyone saying how bad we will do, no pressure on us at all.
