Mjolnir
Not sure why everyone think we are favourites to be fighting it out with Wolves for the wooden spoon and we have a team only good at home. AJ, Lawson, Bech, Birks and most probably Ellis are all better on bigger tracks. Nilsson and Kennett are lakeside specialists but Eddie on form can also score on the bigger tracks. I like everyone saying how bad we will do, no pressure on us at all. Absolutely spot on Liam - Kim aside, this team has been put together to perform better on bigger away tracks this year and most of them are originally big track riders. Lawson is a perfect example of a rider mastering the Lakeside track though - and Birks is noticeably better already. I'm looking forward to seeing how Kim does away this year as he certainly seems to have brought some of his Swedish form with him this season - that win over Doyle was brilliant! I think we will be difficult to beat at home, but that's because our team is better than people seem to think. Really enjoyed last night's meeting - much more passing than last week and I think we made a point (or three!) with that result. To be fair I doubt we'll beat Leocester quite that convincingly again next time but the whole team were up for it and rode well. Team spirit seems great this year. It was great to see the riders come round the stock car track on their bikes at the end rather than in the back of a truck as well, that was nice for the fans - I hope that continues! A few Leicester riders deserve a special mention in my opinion. Wozniak really improved after his first race, Auty was very impressive and Lambert worked very hard for not many points. mdmc82
Think Lakesides biggest problem will be how often Birks, Lawson and Kennett are missing.

I (unfortunately) see your point on Birks and Lawson, but how often will Kennett be missing now? We have priority as he wasn't a Rye House asset when he signed for us: http://www.lakesidehammers.co/edward-kennett-statement/ Edited March 28, 2015 by Mjolnir

We have priority as he wasn't a Rye House asset when he signed for us: http://www.lakesidehammers.co/edward-kennett-statement/The way it reads is that if Lakeside have an away meeting at same time as Rye House have a home one then Kennett would ride for Rye house. So that would make 4 missing away meetings. Good news for Lakeside that Kennett won't miss any home meetings. The only think to worry about is his usual dip in form from June onwards, however he is good at Lakeside and in 2nd string position so should do well. Birks being missing is bigger concern as lowest ranked rider on the draft so not many guest choices. Think when lakeside do have a full team though, they look very strong at home. Great to see AJ back. Edited March 28, 2015 by mdmc82

Great to see AJ back. Absolutely, it's fantastic to have him back, and he was getting back into his groove in his later rides last night. I agree that a lot depends on Eddie this season and consistency throughout a season has often been a problem for him. Fingers crossed that will be different for him at Lakeside - he's looking great so far though! Hopefully Birks will move up the rankings a bit to give us more options for a guest when necessary. A ORLOV
Could anyone who went to the meeting tell me are they still using Black and White as a TR helmet colour and was it easy to distinguish from Yellow and Black.

They are, and it looked alright to me
cityrebel
Could anyone who went to the meeting tell me are they still using Black and White as a TR helmet colour and was it easy to distinguish from Yellow and Black. it was easy enough to tell the difference from where I was standing on the back straight, which is a fair distance from the start line.
foreverblue
Difficult to judge lakeside on one meeting against a team with riders who clearly dont like the lakeside track but they do look good, i have seen eddie kennett recently and he seems to be a lot better than a couple of seasons ago and i did say he could do a job for poole, he is on a bargain average and can only improve especially at a track he has always ridden well

No problems for me at Coventry either as it was easy to distinguish between the yellow/black and white/black. Mind you it was made a tad easier by the fact it was Peter Karlsson on the TR ride so I only had to look for the rider in front. Great night for Peter with 20 points.

A clear win against Leicester is one thing, but Kings Lynn next Friday will be a different kettles of fish. Then Coventry have a side that generally go well at Arena so we'll have a better idea after those matches. Lakeside have taken a bit of a gamble this year by picking mostly riders who have the potential for improvement, but having potential and actually achieving it are different things Lakeside's gamble could pay off big time or it could flop badly. Present state of play is they they are starting to look good but it's a long season with still a long way to go.

Yes kings lynn you will find out if you are contenders but i dont think they are that scary and could miss the play offs as could coventry who are better with kylmarkorpi but still have problems although their reserves look strong. In my opinion mikkel bech is a massive talent and with kennett and nilsson going well really good chance of doing something this year
pugwash
getting AJ back is a major boost Big time.!! Will be hard to beat at home and should score well at all the away tracks. Might cause us a few embarrasing moments at W rd Good luck to Lakeside this season.
