Major Gp Sponsorship Announcement

I'm just waiting for the announcement that instead of referring to riders by name, they will henceforth be referred to in race cards, media etc. by their sponsors name instead.

A trend started by Mason Wear for anyone not up to date with bsf hot topics...

Were they not a supplier of formal evening garments worn by members of the freemasons back in the 80s. They were from Glasgow if I remember rightly

Last years attempt to refer to all riders by a number failed so why not sponsors?!

THERE will be an additional two-minute clock in the pits this year which will be used to speed up the time it takes for riders to come to the scoreboard for the draw for the semis and final. Once the Race Director or Referee hits the button riders will have two minutes to take their place or otherwise forfeit their place in the pecking order.

Its not the fact the 2 minute clock is being sponsored, its the meeting or series that is sponsored. Its obvious that the 2 minute clock is a brilliant place to have your sponsor banner (advertising), after all the tv cameras will be focusing on one of the 3 (4 if you add the pits clock-see post #10), great advertising for Meridan Lifts I reckon, what a shrewd move..

It is the subliminal nature of this form of advertising that concerns me the most.

Being of a rather suggestive nature myself.

 

I fear that come the end of April I shall find myself making a phone call to those nice people to arrange delivery of an elevator.

All of my own.

 

I have succumbed to many on-screen deals in the past and just had to pay up.

So it is not the cost that worries me from making such an impulsive purchase.

 

My real worry is that I live in a Bungalow.
