Elite Shield, Poole Pirates V Kings Lynn: Wed 25th March.

I hope Kyle Newman is okay after his fall tonight.

Big race win for Porsing Beating Holder & Magic on their own track. What's wrong with Bjerre so far though

Good debut from Starke so far

Can't take anything from these meetings. It's the 1st team event for both teams, it's not about the winning. It's a perfect chance to iron out issues be it equipment or riding order's etc

Probably says more about the promoters and the state of the sport.

If people would rather watch a tiny screen with no commentary or on screen graphics than turn up at their local track, I'd say they should be looking closer to home rather than blame Bet365.

No commentary or shouty man at the Norfolk/Adrian Flux Arena ....hmm...tough call ...

(but I do agree with you!)

i remember something similar regarding the speedway updates website. Some bright spark reckoned it was stopping fans from attending meetings!

Exactly, lots of heats where the finishing order isn't what you'd expect. Would have been nice to win but at the end of the day it doesn't matter a fig really, the first important meeting is next Tuesday.

I would take anything Phil the Ace tells you with a large pinch of salt ...as he's been told tends to mean he is guessing

Rubbish. More to do with people watching speedway free, and letting others keep the stadium open for them. There is always free loaders.

Years ago Lakeside held a meeting with free admission and about 4k turned up. Week later, and normal prices, and they stayed away. I wonder why.

Well I confess to being a little surprised but nevertheless delighted with tonight's result, especially after losing Kyle Newman (mild concussion - but looked fine afterwards) in heat 2 when his chain broke whilst attempting a 'big one around the outside of turn 4'!!

All the Pirates contributed well - each with at least one heat win - but exceptional performances by North and Starke and of course the skipper.

Disappointed with the Stars to be honest - not one rider in double figures including a T/R - but they are just as likely to reverse all that with Poole on Thursday night.

PS. For all the afficianados, Nothing wrong with the track, that a bit more shale wouldn't have improved - but no holes, no ruts to speak of, and not even Poole's infamous 'blue groove' appearing. :t:

It was bl***y cold though!

Just one other thing to note from the meeting...................... I Thought the new rule was "no rider is to get off of their bike to do any gardening" ??????? So why was Rory Schlein allowed to do just that before heat 14???? And what is the punishment if/when they do??

Should Schlein have been excluded???

Edited to say, just checked the thread about gardening at the start and Schlien should have been excluded!!!

Be interesting if Kings Lynn win by 2 points on aggregate!!!!!!
