Elite Shield, Poole Pirates V Kings Lynn: Wed 25th March.

Recommended Posts

Poole's first meeting of the season is the defence of the Elite Shield which gives us a rather tough two leg affair against a very good Stars team.

With Gomolski, North and Starke having to settle in to the Poole team and also at Wimborne Road and by all accounts Chris Holder looking " a bit rusty" plus the Stars already having a settled team, then I would not be surprised to see Poole lose this on aggregate over the two legs?

Still it's great to have speedway back again and as always, may the best team win.

Feel this could go either way. Would obviously like to win to give us some sort of bragging rights, but realistically, who wins, means nothing, it's too early in the season to have any reference to who's the best..........

Most riders will hit the floor running, and the biggest difference will be how they perform on each track. In that scenario, It should be harder for Lynn to get a result at Poole than it will be for Poole to win at Lynn..... ...Everyone rider goes well on our track..........

Can't imagine there'll be much in it either way, The one big positive is that the Speedway should be the winner with good and exciting racing.....Weather permitting........

Agree with that summary PQ7. 2 very close meetings ahead which could both be away wins?!! Especially as all the KL riders should know where the holes are likely to be!! :D

It'll be interesting to see Poole's riding order for these first couple of meetings?!

Not the end of the world though mate if we did lose it over two legs. The main Trophy is handed out in October...

Iversen seems to be back in the swing of things quite quickly but this will be Porsing's first outing of 2015 AFAIK and our two reserves are returning from injuries so don't expect them to be up to speed straight away. Expect lots of cobweb blowing over the two legs in what is basically a challenge match, lets hope for two smooth consistent tracks and fourteen riders all in one piece come 10pm Thursday evening.

Sadly unable to make this one (Family funeral) or Good Friday (work)...............

Think it will be a very close run thing over both legs................

I think King's Lynn are going to be the team to watch again this year..............

Porsing looked pretty good and fast at p&p and he's practiced plenty, I don't have any worries about him.
