Berwick V Newcastle Tyne Tweed Trophy 1st Leg 28/03/2015

Recommended Posts

The North East Season 2015 kicks off at Sheilfield Park with the "enemy" from Tyneside, the Newcastle Diamonds. Clashes between the sides are always great entertainment and Berwick can rely upon a bigger gate than normal as the Newcastle fans come north up the A1 to watch the Diamonds against the home side.

I believe the riders that will take to the track on 28th March 2015 will be: -

Berwick

Ben Barker

Thomas Jorgensen

Claus Vissing

Kevin Doolan

Alex Edberg

Luke Crang

Matic Voldrih

Newcastle

Steve Worrall

Lewis Kerr

Christian Henry

Anton Rosen

Ludvig Lindgren

Lewis Rose

Simon Neilsen

Ben Barker pulled out of the Peterborough v GB Select side and Newcastles Lewis Kerr took a tumble, both should be able to ride in the NE opener???

Both sides have six riders each who can win races but Luke Crang and Simon Neilsen can help their teams by hitting the ground running and up their averages.

I hope 2015 is good for both teams at the turnstiles and on the track

Lewis Kerr took a tumble at Peterborough but he is ok just a bruised wrist and ego! so all of the Diamonds will be fine for the 28th and 29th. Newcastle have "No" new riders as the riders coming back in for 2015 Christian Henry, Steve Worrall and Anton Rosen were our guys anyway. Pity Danny & Robbo have moved on as they usually got stuck in at Shielfield and were very entertaining.

Berwick have a good looking team. I hope both NE tracks perform well in the coming season but especially the new Diamonds line up, well I may be fair in my posts but I want my team Newcastle to win some trophies. Berwick can be our runners up! OK?

i dont!

Well what you see is what we got. The lads in this team all have to improve if we are to win anything, that is fact. They are all capable of improvement and we are not able to pay the wages of the leagues top men so this seven will do for me

What do you suggest MKRider?

All of your riders have the potential to improve, you havn't paid big money, and your management will get the best out of them, good luck for the season.

I don't rate Newcastle's team or my own, but ultimately that is just personal preference

Newcastle`s top five looks solid enough, but if they can get one or preferably both reserves hitting big numbers the Diamonds are in business. Rose looks the more likely of the two to do that, and Berwick showed last year what can be done with a top scoring reserve, there`s no reason why Newcastle cant do the same.

Agree. Rose is the one to watch.

can't get up for this one, but hoping the Diamonds can score around 40,,, and that should be enough to take back for the second leg...

I can't see the the Berwick reserves causing much trouble at Brough, tho Jorgensen might, lol,,, dunno about the knew guy, and it depends on what mood Vissing and Doolan are in, who are both capable,,, I would like to see Barker complete all his rides and do well :-),,,

I think Newcastle will be strong at home and to win over the 2 legs,,, :-)

Decided against going to this one, not going to Berwick. Weather forecast not good and even worse for the Newcastle opener on Sunday 29th. Annoying as March weather has not been too bad until this weekends forecast. However the weather people often get it wrong, get me a job there as it seems you can be bad at the job and not face the sack!! I will be at Berwick later in the year so Bandits can count on my £15.00 approx at least a couple of times

I hope both meetings go ahead and are not spoiled by wind and rain but I am only going to the Newcastle home leg...Its always freezing at Shielfield so get your thermals out and if I am honest Brough's only grandstand does not get any sun and we freeze there in March as well.

Good luck to both teams for the 2015 season but more luck to Newcastle OK!!
