S_Smith92
Hello. A gofundme page has been set up in support of Adam Roynon to help fund a replacement race suite for him, after his brand new set were destroyed in his horror crash over the weekend. Under the new regs they now cost in the region of £1000 a pair!! And as I'm sure you could all imagine, this is the last thing any rider needs to worry about as an extra cost when preparing for the start of the season. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and go a long way. Thanks. https://www.gofundme.com/ozmi2o
Sings4Speedway
Really??? I fail to see why this suit needs to be replaced? and why others need to fund it. If Peterborough brought and supplied the suit in the first place how is Adam out of pocket? If he feels guilty or chooses to replace it that is his decision and shouldn't be looking for hand outs IMO and £1000........new reg suits can still be purchased under £700 so don't get greedy!
S_Smith92
The suit was damaged in the accident and cut to peices by medical staff. It is Adams reaponsibility to fund the replacement of the suite, not the clubs, so yes he is out of pocket. And it's just a bit of decency and help. He isn't begging or asking for it to be paid. It's myself, a friend and fan who has decided to see if we can help. And so far people are. The lad deserves a bit of help after everything he goes through. And yes they are in the region of £1000, that price is for last years regulation suites. If you don't believe it, contact either peterobough speedway or Maliniak for confirmation. It's not greed. Just want to help Edited March 18, 2015 by Shawn Smith

Simple enough, if you want to help you can. If not don't. I won't be personally as I don't donate to speedway equipment costs out of principal but I see no issue with asking as many people are happy to help out - good for them

Although I can't help feel that Adam Roynon might have shot himself in the leg by pulling out of the Ben Fund Bonanza at late notice for a dubious reason. People might be a little less generous in helping him for that reason. In fact, they might posslbly decide that a donation to the SRBF is a more worthy cause: http://www.srbf.co.uk/ Or maybe donate to the Ricky Ashworth Fund. lucifer sam
Or? I think you mean and... Yup, even better, a donation to both the SRBF and Ricky Ashworth. Just hope Ricky has thousands of people on Sunday. It's one meeting I am determined to make this year. All the best Rob
iris123
Yes, it's up to people to decide. Although I can't help feel that Adam Roynon .... ....should hangs his kevlars up.My opinion, but the guy obviously has bags full of courage but should maybe take a step back and look where this is going. In a way it doesn't seem right to contribute to him carrying on,although I appreciate it is everyones personal choice Edited March 18, 2015 by iris123

(as I believe he should in order to protect his body from further harm) Is this request not a bit early?

oldace
Is this for real. A self employed tradesman has damaged his work clothes and now someone wants to raise money to pay for them.
smod
Is this £1,000 set of kevlars (a rather-inflated price, but...) his own personal property, or one of a set of Peterborough team suits? Just asking.

Only in Speedway lol Some riders are so keen to hand the bucket out for whatever they need nowadays. Best one was a yank rider who wanted British fans to buy airfare tickets so his wife & kids could fly over and live in another country (Poland) lol Collections should only be made for riders like ricky ashworth and similar riders with long term injuries.
Gemini
Looks like the target has been dropped to £600 now anyway instead of £1,000. I'll donate the same amount I gave to the Chris Harris G.P. fund last season - zilch. If people want to then fair enough but any spare money I have always goes to abused, half dead dogs where I can follow their photos and videos and feel happy I have helped a bit with their progress back to good health. Edited now I have seen Robert's post. To be fair it is not Adam who is doing this and it wasn't Ryan Fisher either. Just supporters starting the fund and wanting to help. Agree about the dogs trust, ect But if it's not the riders begging then the riders need to speak up as it doesn't look good on them.
